On Monday the painting crew rolled in at 7:30 A.M. and got straight to work. The lifts were delivered, pews were relocated, the sanctuary was cleared, and the reserve sacrament was moved to the Chapel. Today, Tuesday, plastic covers all the pews, windows, fixtures, organ and piano. The cracks in the walls have been repaired and the woodwork has been caulked. What a difference a day makes!
On Sunday I announced that the work was to begin this week and I had hoped that we would only be displaced from the Church for a few weeks at the end of the month. I was wrong! We will need to relocate this coming Sunday, October 6
, and remain in the Parish hall for the duration of the project. The good news is that the St. James team has been talking about this move for two + months and a plan was in place.
So, THIS Sunday plan to come to the Parish hall for coffee and donuts and find a seat from which to enjoy worship. We will plan to be in the Parish Hall for the next four weeks. If the timeline changes, we will let you know as soon as the determination has been made.
Until such time as we move back into the church, Deacon Phil’s and Fr. Michael’s Christian Education Classes will be suspended.
