Happy Earth Day!
Dear Providence Residents,

Today marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. Although we are physically separated this Earth Day, there are so many ways to celebrate our planet and protect the environment from home and outside our own door.

Our office is passionate about limiting our carbon footprint and protecting the environment. We started an office composting program, we are working to increase bike paths in Providence, and we have outdoor "walking meetings" whenever possible!

I also want to take this opportunity to wish the community a Happy Ramadan to everyone who celebrates. Please stay safe and well.

With Gratitude,
Supervisor Dalia Palchik

Glass Recycling Update
Glass Recycling:   Fairfax County no longer accepts glass containers in curbside recycling program . Residents are urged to reuse glass bottles or bring them to the containers at the I-66 transfer station and I-95 landfill complex. Due to COVID-19, the large purple bins are no longer available for glass drop-off. If you would still like your glass picked up and kept separate for recycling, Ecoserv and Glass House Recycling are here for you.

Ecoserv is currently offering a glass curbside pickup for recycling for residential buildings, HOA’s and townhouse/condo’s and stand single family home communities in Fairfax County. Learn more   here .

Glass House Recycling. Danny, 14, and Jonathan Oppenheimer, 17, are brothers and students at George Mason Highschool who started Glass House Recycling to provide an environmental alternative to throwing away glass waste.
