Paletas Vs. Popsicles - Find the Difference at Vida Dulce in Cary and Knightdale
|
|
If you’re like many people in the US, the idea of a popsicle probably involves bright colors, water, and artificial flavors.
While these popsicles are a summertime classic and have their nostalgic merits, there are other desserts that have just as much to offer in terms of interest, flavor, and quality. Specifically, Mexican Paletas, which features fresh frozen fruit and sometimes real chocolate, offering a truly exciting experience.
|
|
If you’re still not sure what exactly differentiates popsicles and paletas, you need to visit Vida Dulce at 836 E Chatham St in Cary or at 1018-E Shoppes at Midway Dr in Knightdale. There you will find authentic Mexican paletas. And we promise they are delicious and refreshing; especially during these hot summer days!

Key Differences Between Paletas and Popsicles
Paletas are made fresh and in small quantities - Unlike popsicles, which are commonly manufactured in bulk and sent to grocery stores, a paleta is made with real natural ingredients such as different tropical fruits like Mango, Pineapple or Bananas. Some paletas are cream-based, similar to gelato made with chocolate, coffee or even Oreos.
In both styles, fresh, natural ingredients are a staple. When you buy a fresh-made paleta from Vida Dulce, you know it contains only the freshest and most authentic ingredients.
More flavor combinations - You may think of popsicles in terms of fun flavors like an imaginary “blue raspberry,” or “strawberry lemon”. Vida Dulce’s Paletas come in flavor options that are just as fun. Click Here for Menu.

A few of our favorite flavor combinations include:
- Dairy Free/Vegan Pop Flavors: Spicy Mango, Cantaloupe, Spicy Pineapple, Mango w/Chamoy, Strawberry Lemonade
- Dairy Pop Flavors: Strawberry/Vanilla, Coconut, Key Like Pie, PB/Oreo/Chocolate, Dulce De Leche, Banana, Tres Leches, Orange Creamsicles
Ninety percent of US households regularly indulge in a sweet, frozen treat. If you’re hoping to mix things up and try a new dessert, try Mexican paletas from Vida Dulce.

How Vida Dulce all began - Owners, Carlos and Eric are cousins with roots in Guadalajara, Mexico. Carlos used to sell palentas in the streets of Mexico from the age of 10…about 30 years ago. The mentality to pursue a popsicle business has been there since the beginning. Eventually he went on to open an ice cream shop in Ohio, but the long winter months provided a challenge. With family in North Carolina, he thought the south would be a better home for ice cream and popsicles/palentas.
Eric is a rare Raleigh native who always had a sweet tooth and a love for ice cream. Eric comes from a family with a business background, so the thought of owning any kind of business had always been a dream.
Fast forward to 2017 - Carlos was looking to move south to find a better place for his family to live. Eric was a master mechanic with a well respected car brand. Both knew there were bigger goals ahead to go after. They joined forces and Vida Dulce was created. Eric was able to visit Guadalajara to learn how it’s all done and bring back a piece of Mexico to North Carolina. Vida Dulce opened on May 2nd, 2018 and it’s been a Sweet Life ever since.

|
Vida Dulce means “Sweet Life” in English. Their goal is to bring people together from all cultures and backgrounds. There are so many options of palentas/popsicles, ice cream, and other treats that there is something for everyone.

Bailey’s Fine Jewelry Launches Innovative Engagement Ring Try-On Kit
|
|
Calling all Brides-to-Be or Those Who Just Love a Little Sparkle!
Bailey’s Fine Jewelry is thrilled to announce the launch of its innovative new Engagement Ring Try-On Kit, which allows clients to try on stunning engagement ring styles from the comfort of their own homes before making an in-store purchase. The Engagement Ring Try-On Kit is the first of its kind in North Carolina and is truly a game-changer in the wedding planning process.
To build an Engagement Ring Try-On Kit, clients select three of the kit’s featured rings and customize each with their preferred metal colors and diamond shapes. Bailey’s has curated a collection of its favorite wedding band pairings that will also be included in the kit, so that the bride-to-be can visualize her engagement ring in the full bridal stack. Sample rings are hand-crafted with alloy metal and high-quality cubic zirconia stones. The featured rings are meant to resemble the look of an authentic Bailey’s engagement ring, but the real deal will be even more amazing! The kit also includes a complimentary ring sizer and bottle of nail polish (OPI’s “Baby Take a Vow”) to ensure the perfect Instagram photo-op when trying on the rings.
|
|
Once the rings are selected and finalized, Bailey’s will ship the kit directly to the client’s door. Upon arrival, Bailey’s encourages making the ring try-on session feel like a party, complete with family and friends, music and sharing photos on social media using #baileybox. Bailey’s makes returning the kit a breeze – return instructions, packaging and a pre-paid shipping label are all included. The Engagement Ring Try-On Kit requires an initial down payment of $100, but once the kit is returned within seven days and received by Bailey’s, a $100 Bailey’s gift card will be emailed to put toward the purchase of a real engagement ring or other piece of jewelry from one of the company’s four North Carolina locations.

“One of the best parts of working at Bailey’s is getting to play a small role in the special moments in our clients’ lives and this new kit is an exciting way for us to do that,” said Trey Bailey of Bailey’s Fine Jewelry. “The Engagement Ring Try-On Kit allows us to use our fine jewelry and diamond expertise to reimagine engagement ring shopping. Whether someone is currently looking to purchase a ring or just wants to get an idea of what she might want in the future, the Engagement Ring Try-On Kit makes the process personal, approachable, and most of all, fun.”

TheBeltlineBuzz items are selected by our editors. No one can pay to be featured on TheBeltlineBuzz. That's what advertising is for, and it's always labeled as such. Selling ourselves (literally) would destroy the legitimacy, integrity, and fun of TheBeltlineBuzz. Plus, we'd never earn your trust that way. So we'll never make a dime off your meal at a restaurant nor a penny from the sale of the latest accessory we told you about.
That said, on occasion, we will send out "Dedicated" emails on behalf of sponsors. You'll recognize them from the subject line: " TheBeltlineBuzz Dedicated Email." Yes, these are paid for. And, no, we would never sell our subscriber list to anyone. Not for any amount of money.
We hope that you continue to enjoy your Beltline Buzz. We look forward to delivering it.
