CHAMBER INTEL
August 24, 2017
Message from the President
A huge thank you to Stuart Borton, owner of Yellow Dog Café , for the donation of a refrigerator to the Chamber. We have been without one for quite some time. We also want to thank Patrick Watkinson, manager at Shore Lanes , for the wonderful spread they put on for our After Hours mingle last night.

We are requesting that any business that would like to put coupons, swag or brochures into tourist bags distributed from the Chamber to drop them off at the Chamber between 9:00 - 5:00, Monday – Friday. This program initiated by the Space Coast Office of Tourism , will be starting September 1 st and last until the end of October. All local hotels will be giving a certificate for their guests to come to the Chamber to get this free bag. This is great adverting for your company to nonresidents.

Join us Tuesday morning for a Hurricane Preparedness Panel at the Brevard Business Professionals breakfast at Buena Vida Estates from 8:00 – 9:30 a.m. The panel will discuss how to prepare your business or home, what to do immediately if you receive hurricane damage and what your insurance policy should include.  Breakfast is included and lots of time for networking.

Save the date for the Space Coast Symposium on Friday September 22, from 8:00 - 2:00, at the Space Coast Convention Center off 520 in Cocoa. This event features State and county leaders providing panel discussions about the state of Brevard County. This is a “do not miss” event featuring confirmed participants: Florida Senator Dorothy Hukill; Florida State Representatives Thad Altman, Thomas Goodson and Randy Fine; Space Coast Economic Development Commission President & CEO Lynda Weatherman; Space Coast Office of Tourism Executive Director Eric Garvey; Port Canaveral Port Authority Chairman Thomas Weinber; Indian River Lagoon Council Executive Director Duane De Freese; Space Florida Senior VP & COO Jim Kuzma; Brevard County Commissioner James Barfield; Orlando Melbourne International Airport Executive Director Greg Donovan; Home Builders & Contractors Association of Brevard President Michelle Masline, Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey and Brevard County School Board Chairwoman Misty Belford. Sponsorships and Corporate Tables are available for this prestigious event.

All the best,
