Covid 19 Volatility Edition
The extreme market volatility continues as government officials scramble to contain the Covid 19 virus prior to the health care system being overrun.
Beaches, restaurants and basically anywhere people gather have been closed on Palm Beach and South Florida bringing Wall Street's pain to Main Street. Even the venerable stalwart Starbucks (SBUX) has turned to a takeout only model during this crisis.
As we navigate this ever changing dynamic landscape together, remember things will improve over time.

PBHFA's March Socials Have Been Cancelled
Following the guidelines of the CDC and government officials, we have made the decision to cancel our March Events.
In an effort to preserve the safety and well-being of our members, we have decided to take additional precautionary and preventative measures regarding our events. At this time, we have determined that it would be in the best interest for all that we postpone/cancel our socials.
We are committed to putting our attendees first, especially given the current situation. It is imperative that we continue to follow the guidelines and direction of health organizations like the
CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention)
and the WHO (World Health Organization), along with state, local and federal health officials.
Right now, our April socials are still scheduled but given the dynamic nature of the situation, we will continue to monitor for possible postponement.
We will let you know as soon as we know for certain!

Coronavirus in Florida: Escape from New York underway
New York, New Jersey and Connecticut are all shutting down because of the
coronavirus.
But in Palm Beach County, the telephones of real estate agents are lighting up with residents from the Northeast eager
to come here
or stay here.
Some want to extend their seasonal rentals to avoid having to return to the North, back to the crowds and the burgeoning sickness. Others who are from the Northeast want to buy in Palm Beach County. Fast.
“I just had somebody who walked into the office in a panic. He wanted to buy a place here,” said Jeff Lichtenstein of Echo Fine Properties in Palm Beach Gardens. “He wants to be out of New York City.”

Lamborghini Closes Factory In Response To Covid 19
Lambo
has decided to temporarily shut down operations at its factory in Sant’Agata Bolognese starting today until March 25. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini motivated the company’s decision by saying:
“This measure is an act of social responsibility and high sensibility towards our people, in the extraordinary situation in which we find ourselves right now in Italy and which is also evolving abroad due to the worldwide spread of Coronavirus.”
Lamborghini’s factory is busier than ever thanks to the immense success of the Urus SUV. The Raging Bull sold a record of
8,205 vehicles last year
, representing a massive 43-percent increase compared to 2018. The Italian marque moved 4,962 Super SUVs in 2019, along with 2,139 Huracans and 1,104 Aventadors.

The Lady Who Lorded Over The Links
When golf began in Palm Beach, men ruled the links. Then a woman who could pound out long-distance drives took the reins — and she meant business.
The days of winter-resort golf mulligans were over.
Once Bessie Fenn, starting in the mid-1920s, became the island’s most well-known golf pro, everyone — rich, famous or not — had to follow iron-clad rules.
Even the visiting Duke of Windsor couldn’t evade her watchful eye. “Doook! Doook!” she chased after him. “Your forgot to pay your green fee!”
For 34 years, Fenn was the boss at the Palm Beach Golf Club, the progenitor of what is now Florida’s oldest 18-hole golf course operating on its original site: The Breakers’ Ocean Course.

Jet Pandemic Travel
Turks & Caicos. Aspen. Jackson Hole. Don’t cancel spring break or put your loved ones at risk — just fly private.
Executives at Magellan Jets saw the coronavirus outbreak hit Europe at least a month ago, and started planning new spring break destinations to promote, said co-founder and president Anthony Tivnan.
“The islands are also extremely popular right now: Puerto Rico, the Turks and Caicos, Barbados. Island travel is extremely active, and we’re counting on it to replace some of the European travel we typically do in the summer months,” he told
