Dear Trinity Episcopal Church,

So far, our Wednesday Lent program for the 40 Days of Prayer has been amazing! We've had three very different speakers offer their thoughts, practices, and encouragement on engaging in a deeper life of prayer. Each of our speakers has offered a different perspective - the Rev. Canon Perry Mullins spoke about confessing our sins, the Rev. Lacy Largent spoke about breathing deeply in meditative prayer, and the Rev. Lernette Patterson spoke about emptying ourselves in prayer in order to be filled by God. However, they have all agreed that this life of prayer is not about saying the right words but about putting ourselves into the right frame of mind to commune with God.

Our final two programs will be held at Grace Episcopal Church next Wednesday, March 18 and then back at Trinity on Wednesday, March 25. Join us as we dig deeper into this life with Christ.

With grace,

Jimmy

United Thank Offering

Ongoing through Palm Sunday

This Lent our congregation is exploring gratitude and reciprocity with the United Thank Offering. We have a Lenten calendar and resources for families to use during Lent to focus a bit of time each day reflecting on those things for which we are grateful and how we can add to the goodness they bring into the world around us. Resources (including the blue boxes) are available in the Narthex for those that would like to use them at home on their own. The inspiration for UTO materials this year are from the book The Serviceberry: Abundance and Reciprocity in the Natural World by Robin Wall Kimmerer.
