This podcast is about sharing these remarkable people with all of you!

A Few Thoughts From Tom ...and a Question
This past Wednesday night I had the privilege of attending a dinner hosted by a small group of people interested in bringing a program called The Bail Project to Cook and Lake Counties. The speaker was the CEO of the Bail Project Robin Steinberg, who is best known for a TED Talk viewed over 2.4 million times - a talk which ultimately inspired the TED Talk organization to give The Bail Project a $25,000,000 grant. Yes, 25 million. View the talk HERE .
What I am interested in knowing - those of you who have a chance to look at the TED Talk and/or the Bail Project Website - what do you think about the Bail Project, and is this sort of justice program the kind of ministry our church should be involved in? Please know that involvement could mean a variety of things, including projects such as creating "Freedom Kits" for inmates no longer incarcerated, but are in need of life's most basic items. Let me know what you think - email me tom@dickelman.com. Thank you!
Lake Forest College is having an Easter Day Celebration in the quad behind the Chapel that will include games, face painting, food, and all sorts of fun for the whole family. It'll all happen after church gets out. Keep an eye out for next week's newsletter for more information!

Hi Folks,

I’d like to personally thank the members of the Community Church Grateful Dead Band, including Nic Barnum, Tyler Mattson, Kathleen Doetsch, Terry Moran, Kurt Yost, Fred Koch and Jeff Lackie, along with photographer Danny McMurray, sound engineer Mickey Barendt, videographer Patrick Chen, videographer, editor, producer Elliott Delman, preacher Zach and everyone else involved for a job well done. We’re already starting to plan next year’s service!

I’d be remiss if I didn’t also mention that poor Zach is a bit off his disc golf game and could use some consoling next time you see him. We got a quick nine holes in at Danny Cunniff park in Highland Park after the staff meeting Tuesday and it didn’t go well for him. We’d love to have a few more golfers along on the next outing. Let either of us know if you’re interested.

Tonight:  Paul Langford, who has played/sung for us many times over the years is currently music director for Chicago a cappella , will be bringing their concert series: Dynamic Duos to Gorton Community Center this Friday. Paul is one of the best vocal arrangers in the world and if you’re a fan of a cappella singing, this is not to be missed!

Saturday: Join fleet-footed whimsy maker, Bill Buczinsky at Assembly Hall in Kenilworth for an afternoon of poetry and song. Feats of Whimsy combines music, drama, comedy and an open mic for people of all ages. Drums! Drama! Daring! Danger! Not quite a freak show, but it might get stranger! The show starts at 3 pm.

Sunday: Christina Trulio and husband Bob Hasty will be joining us for Palm Sunday worship. We’ll be featuring the music of a favorite singer/songwriter Sara Groves .
