Hybrid Worship
April 10, 2022
Welcome to Worship! Whether you're joining by Zoom or in person, it's good to be together.

Reflection
Trauma can be understood as an event or experience that causes a person to re-think their understanding of their safety (emotional, physical, or spiritual).

As we approach Holy Week and Easter, we prayerfully imagine: What does a non-harming spiritual community look like? What trauma-informed practices can we incorporate into the way we live and work together?
Spiritual Formation - 9:00 am
Adult Spiritual Formation
You're invited to Spiritual Formation, in person in the Shadow Rock Multipurpose Room and on Zoom. We are finishing our Lenten study on trauma in faith communities today. We're asking one another: now that we know more, how do we change and mature together? How do we more sensitively respond to trauma in our midst?

Worship - 10:15 am

Coming Together
One: Hosanna, hosanna, loud Hosanna!
Many: Blessed is the one who comes.
One: Hosanna, hosanna, loud Hosanna!
Many: May the rivers of justice run.
One: Children singing, families dancing,
Many: The elders give a shout!
One: Peace in heaven, glory in the highest!
Many: Even the stones cry out!
One: Hosanna, hosanna, loud hosanna!
Many: May our refrain never cease.
One: Not by power nor by might,
Many: But the way that makes for peace.

Opening Prayer and Meditation

Singing Our Faith ~ Hosanna, Loud Hosanna
Hosanna, loud hosanna, the little children sang;
Through pillared court and temple the lovely anthem rang.
To Jesus, who had blessed them close folded to his breast,
The children sang their praises, the simplest and the best.

From Olivet they followed mid an exultant crowd,
The victor palm branch waving, and chanting clear and loud.
The Lord of earth and heaven rode on in lowly state,
Nor scorned that little children should on his bidding wait.

“Hosanna in the highest!” that ancient song we sing,
For Christ is our Redeemer, the Lord of heaven our King.
O may we ever praise him with heart and life and voice,
And in his blissful presence eternally rejoice!
Celebrations and Prayer Requests
This is our time to share our lives:
celebrations such as birthdays, anniversaries, words of kindness and works of peace and justice. We also share our cares, concerns and vulnerabilities.

Celebration Song

Pastoral Prayer

The Prayer of Jesus, sung responsively
Our Creator in heaven
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread,
Forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those
Who trespass against us.
Save us from the time of trial,
And deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours,
Now and forever.
Amen.

Offering and Invitation to Give
One: Hosanna to the God who loves us, Who heals us. Who calls us to give ourselves for the sake of the world. When we were afraid, God, you became our fortress. When we were lost, God, you were our way. When we were alone, God, you were there beside us.
All: In you, we live. In you, we move. In you, we are made whole. You have showered us with blessings. We offer our gratitude.
One: Let us gather our gifts together and offer them to God.

Offertory
Word About Life for Today ~ Rev. Ken Heintzelman

Words for Mission
One: Now, may the grace of God go with us. May God’s face shine upon us.
All: May we carry God’s peace into the world, offering the healing we have received. May our lives be our Hosannas.
One: These are the times.
All: We are the people.
One: All of Creation is blessed.
All: May we love all and serve all.
One: May God be with you.
All: And also with you.
One: Amen.
All: Amen.

Sending Forth ~ Trees of the Field
You shall go out with joy and be led forth with peace;
The mountains and the hills will break forth before you.
There’ll be shouts of joy, and all the trees of the field
will clap, will clap their hands.
And all the trees of the field will clap their hands, (clap, clap)
The trees of the field will clap their hands, (clap, clap)
The trees of the field will clap their hands (clap, clap)
While you go out with joy.
(Repeat faster)
