Palm Sunday Worship

Welcome to worship

Confession & Forgiveness:

L: With humble hearts, we confess to God how we welcome Jesus, and yet refuse the power he offers; how we claim to trust Jesus, yet abandon him when he calls us into something unfamiliar or unpopular.
P: Hosanna, faithful God, save us!

L: With open hands, we confess to God how our lives of faith, just like the first disciples, waver somewhere between faithfulness and betrayal most of the time. We trust, or want to trust God with our whole lives, and yet we also often devote ourselves to self-protection and self-reliance.
P: Hosanna, faithful God, save us!

L: With open eyes, we acknowledge the ways we often look away from suffering, even though your son’s death on the cross tells us that your love is revealed in times of suffering, doubt, and uncertainty.
P: Hosanna, faithful God, save us! Help us lay at your feet our fears and doubts that keep us from fully trusting you, so that we may stand with Jesus, walk with him to the cross, and experience the joy of resurrection in his name.

L: Sons and daughters, children of God, Christ hears us crying, “Hosanna.” Christ has come to save us, to free us from fear, and grant us new life! Hear the good news this morning that all of your sins are forgiven.
P: Hosanna! Hosanna in the highest! Amen.
