The New Year Brings Exciting Changes
Fellow Lions, First I want to thank your Council of Governors for the opportunity for me to serve as Council Chair.  I consider that a great honor and I appreciate their confidence in me for this honor.  Second, as all councils, we have many challenges ahead of us.  It is the hope of this council to meet those challenges with dignity and wisdom. 

What Happens Next in the Process To Legalize Charitable Raffles?

Constitutional Amendment S.239 places the issue before the voters on the November 4, 2014 ballot. The change to the Constitution must be approved by voters and ratified by the General Assembly before nonprofit organizations can legally operate a raffle for charitable purposes and the law allowing charitable raffles goes into effect.

Blythewood Lions Recognized for Book Buddy Program
During the Pre-K graduation and bridging ceremony at the Carolina School for Inquiry last week, the Blythewood Lions Club was recognized with a Proclamation by the Richland County Council.  The Proclamation, presented by County Councilman Torrey Rush, recognized the Lions for their many acts of service to the school this past year.   Attending the ceremony along with the school staff, parents and Lions was S.
