Christine Guerrero
Christine began as a counselor here at Palo Alto Preparatory in the summer session of 2018. Before coming to PAP, she was a social worker in East San Jose. Christine always wanted to be a counselor because she was always intrigued with understanding others on a deeper level and the psychology behind human actions. She says she feels honored and lucky to be able to create a space where people can share their deepest thoughts and explore opportunities for self-growth.

Her favorite part of her job is getting to play cards, board games and other fun activities that you don’t get to do in most jobs. She also likes to have interesting conversations, which is never a shortage for her in this job! Christine likes to travel and once took a 5 week backpacking trip to Panama, Columbia and Ecuador. Some of her interests outside of work include crafting and hiking. She is an animal lover and has two cats and a dog named Rocky. The animal she can most relate to is a koala. Because she would prefer to spend her day eating and sleeping...and do koala’s watch Netflix?
Pathways Meeting
Palo Alto Preparatory offers a free monthly support group! This group is open to all parents of adolescents/young adults who a) have their child currently in an out-of-home treatment program (such as a Wilderness Program, Therapeutic Boarding School or Residential Treatment) and b) parents who have had their child in a residential program and their child has graduated/completed the program and has transitioned home successfully.

Many parents have told us about feeling quite alone in this process and would love to have a place to talk about their experience, gain continued skills, knowledge and support! Thus, we provide this free group, to help families continue to thrive! There is a large community of parents who have gone through this very difficult and trying time and we believe, the more support you have, the better.

This group meets on a monthly basis.
