Pamela Price Lost-Alameda County Lost Out

The numbers give a resounding victory for Ursula Jones Dickson’s first election to be Alameda County District Attorney after being appointed by the Alameda County Board of Supervisors.

Civil Rights Attorney and recalled Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price lost and the citizens of Alameda County lost out. Looking at the numbers, I immediately thought “Donald Trump Defeated Kamala Harris.” So what do those numbers mean? What do those numbers create for Alameda County. The Alameda County residents didn’t hear the DA Race warnings just as no one heeded the warnings about “Project 2025.”

The voices decried the continued leadership of appointed DA Ursula Jones Dickson.

Concern about youth being disproportionately tried as adults and concern about favoritism for law enforcement were among the top warnings.

Critics of Jones Dickson say due to law enforcement preferential treatment, The families of Steven Taylo r, Vinetta Martin and Maurice Monk did not get their day in court to stand for their murdered loved ones due to DA Ursula Jones Dickson’s actions after being appointed as district attorney.

So the proof of the pudding will be in the proving ground of the day to day at the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office.

Have the hands of the social justice clock turned back to the red Kool Aid drinking days of White Supremacy as signified in the election, Tuesday, June 2, 2026 of an accomplished jurist in the vein of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas?

If so, those who want "Rolling River Justice" ("But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!" Amos 5:24) should not wring their hands. It’s all the more reason to lean in and demand justice, one day at a time, one case at a time. If justice does not prevail, Alameda County residents know how to recall candidates.

The significance of a city's district attorney’s office is reinforced in the Kevin Epps case.

First a brief report, Kevin Epps has been in San Francisco County jail since his sentencing. Some of his supporters report they he is doing well and is in good spirits. His biggest concern they say is that he is unable to be with his children to support them as they navigate the reality that Daddy is Not home.

Many are still trying to figure out what happened considering this case was put to rest over six years ago. Days after Epps sentencing, Carol McGruder, founding member and co-chair of the African American Tobacco Control Leadership Council (AATCLC) wrote an Op-Ed about the injustice of the case.

My fellow Atlanta based thespian, Malik Purley, who was an artist at resident at Columbus College and understudy for the late great Paul Winfield (Oscar Nominee for Sounder with Cecily Tyson) as Othello at The Alliance Theater in Atlanta, introduced me to the music of Peabo Bryson in the mid '70's.

Will never forget how floored I was, much like my reaction to Roberta Flack's "First Take."
