Special Hours Tonight Only The school store will be open for in person shopping 30 minutes before tonight’s PTO meeting. We have inventory, including dri-fits! Stop on by. We open at 6!

ATTENTION ALL 8TH GRADERS!   Please submit ART to be considered for the Class T-shirt design! Please use 1-3 colors in your design, the shirt will be black or white depending on the design. DUE by 2pm on Tuesday, October 19th. Include your name and Homeroom teacher on the back of your submission. Turn your creation in at the PTO Mailbox in the front office.

8th grade is taking PSAT on October 13th Students will be provided all the materials they need and will be required to hand over their cell phones, Apple watches, and any other electronic device to the teacher prior to testing. All backpacks will also be placed at the front of the room.  If you have any questions about PSAT testing, please email Ms. Graur at sgraur@houstonisd.org

Kona Ice Wednesday October 13th 4:00- 5:00 pm Pershing’s small lot off of Braes Blvd. Prices range for $4-$6  Kona Ice will donate a portion of its sales to the PTO.

Homecoming Spirit Week & Red Ribbon Week This year Red Ribbon Week coincides with our Homecoming Game. Our Homecoming Game against Pin Oak is Tuesday, October 26.  Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to participate in our Homecoming/Red Ribbon Week Spirit Days:  Monday 10/25 – Hats and Shades Tuesday 10/26 – “Red Out” Day. Wear a red shirt and show your Panda spirit Wednesday 10/27 – Jersey Day. Wear your favorite team jersey Thursday 10/28 – Neon Day. Wear anything neon to school Friday 10/29 – Halloween Costume Day. Wear your favorite (must be school appropriate) Halloween costume. Costume face masks are not allowed. Please note that due to COVID restrictions, we will not have a Homecoming Dance this year; however, we are working on scheduling dances for the spring.

Pershing Spaghetti Supper and Fine Arts Showcase Tuesday, November 2, 6-8 PM Pershing Middle School Courtyard Greenspace

Free live student performances from 6:15-7:45 include band, gymnastics, theater, and more! Student artwork and other creative projects displayed on site. Magnet coordinator will be onsite & welcomes future students. Athletic program flyers available. Dinner & Dessert $15 Dinner $12 {Gugliani's Spaghetti, bread, & salad} Fundraiser raffle tickets are 1 for $5 or 5 for $20.  Dinner or raffle tickets can be purchased on the Pershing Middle School PTO or through this link.

HSPVA’s Middle School Workshops have returned in person this year! Students will get hands on instruction by current PVA upperclassmen and a chance to work in state of the art studios (and see the school!) While participation has no effect on a student’s application, it’s a great way to start a portfolio and check out the art magnet HS. Visual Arts – October 23 and 30 Vocal Music – October 23 Instrumental Music – October 30 Dance – November 6 Theatre – November 13 Creative Writing – December 4 Find out more information here.

Come Dance with the Bellaire Belles What: A day of learning a Pom, Hip-Hop, or Advance Dance routine. No dance experience is required.
