Welcome Back Message from Dr. Shetzer

Welcome back Pandas! I am so excited to be starting the 2021-2022 school year, and even more excited to see our students' faces once again. As you know we have returned to 100% in-person instruction, which means all students must report in-person to school. Please remember that all masks are required in all district schools, buildings, and buses. This applies to all students, staff, and essential visitors. 

I know many of you still have questions and concerns about our safety process. I encourage you to go to https://www.houstonisd.org/readysetgo to review HISD's Ready, Set, Go! Back to School Plan, which includes detailed information about our district's safety protocols. 

Like this plan, all decisions we make this year will be focused on ensuring our students and staff have in-person learning and working experiences that are as safe as possible. 

Yesterday your child received their most updated schedule. As you can imagine, it can be extremely difficult for us to place students in every single elective they choose and sometimes we even make mistakes in our scheduling process. If you find there is a mistake, please use the QR code and/or link provided on our website to request schedule changes. Please keep in mind that schedule change requests are not guaranteed. If you have any questions regarding schedules, please reach out to your child's counselor:

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Procedures

In order to maintain safety, we ask that all parents following the established drop-off and pick-up procedures below:

1. All carpool riders are to be dropped off on Blue Bonnet Blvd (front of school). NO drop-off on the Stella Link or Braes Blvd. The parking lots off of Stella Link and Braes Blvd are also NO DROP OFF ZONES. Students may be dropped off on side streets and walk the rest of the way to school.

2. All bus riders will be dropped off on Braes Blvd. NO CARPOOL Drop-off.

3. All carpool riders may be picked up on Blue Bonnet Blvd. Again, no pick-up in parking lots or on Braes Blvd. 

If we all follow these guidelines our students will be safe and carpool will run smoothly.

• School Day : 8:30 am - 4:00 pm ; All students need to be picked up by 4:15 unless they are with a teacher or coach.
• Drop off and Pick up: Drop off and Pick up are in the carpool line on Bluebonnet
• Backpacks: Backpacks are allowed. There are no lockers.
• Breakfast: Grab-n-Go breakfast may be picked up in the hallway on the way to 1st class
• School Lunches: School lunches are free to all students. The lines can be long at the beginning of school so you might want to bring your lunch
• School Supplies: Teachers will provide specific supply request during their first class meeting.
• Block Schedule:

• Pershing shirt from the school store

• Pants (no jeans or holes)
• Shorts (knee length)
• Skirt (knee length)

• Club/Pershing Sport/Spirit/College Shirt
• Jeans without holes
