PANOLA COLLEGE PROMISE PROGRAM

NEWSLETTER

December 2025 | Issue 2

REMINDER TO SENIORS: Completing the FAFSA is a requirement to use your Promise Program after you graduate. It is open now for the 2026-2027 school year.

Go to www.studentaid.gov to get started.

You will need your parent's help with this so the upcoming break for the holidays might be a great time to get it done!

What It Means to “Keep the Promise”

During the Holidays

As we enter the holiday season, it's easy to get caught up in the excitement of school breaks, celebrations, and time with family and friends. But for Promise students, December is also a time to reflect on what it truly means to live out your commitment — not only through your actions on campus, but also within your community.

The Panola College Promise Program is built on dedication, responsibility, and service. Keeping the Promise means choosing to rise to expectations, not because it is easy, but because your future is worth the effort. This season is the perfect opportunity to demonstrate that.

Ways to keep the Promise…

❄️ Serving others when you can, even in small ways

❄️ Staying focused on your goals, even during holiday distractions

❄️ Maintaining your grades, because academic effort is a requirement

❄️ Making a difference through your actions, not just your words

❄️ Representing the Promise Program proudly in your school and community

Keep the Promise Holiday Service Challenge

As the semester winds down, we challenge all Promise students to complete at least one act of service this holiday season — big or small. Service builds leadership, makes a difference in the community, and keeps you on track with your Promise requirements.

🎄 Ways to Serve During the Holidays 🎄

  • Help at a community or school event
  • Volunteer with a local drive or fundraiser
  • Assist a neighbor or family in need
  • Support a teacher or staff member
  • Write notes of encouragement to residents at a nursing home

Small acts of service lead to big impact. Step up, serve, and

keep your Promise this season!

Submit your hours to Enter the Promise Service Challenge

(Deadline for entries will be January 12, 2026)

Once you’ve completed your act of service, log your hours using the link below.

Be sure to include a picture of you serving—photos will be used for recognition if selected.

All students who complete the challenge before January 12th will be entered

into a drawing to be featured in our February newsletter and for a fun prize such as:

  • A Panola Promise Swag Bag
  • Panola College branded merchandise
  • Gift Card to the Bistro at Panola College

Quote of the Month

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”
— Eleanor Roosevelt

As the semester comes to a close, remember that the Promise Program is not something that is simply given—it is an opportunity you earn through dedication, service, and meeting required standards. Every hour you volunteer and every requirement you meet—including maintaining your grades—brings you closer to securing free tuition and fees and turning your goals into reality.

December is the perfect time to reflect, refocus, and finish strong—both in the classroom and through service to your community. Believe in your dream, put in the work, and keep your Promise.

The Panola Promise team wishes you and your family

a happy and joyous holiday season and a wonderful New Year.

We’re proud of all you’ve accomplished this semester and

look forward to seeing you in January as we

continue our journey together.

Enjoy a well-deserved break!
