NEW SCCS TEACHER SPOTLIGHT
Mrs. Dani Farrar - 2nd grade SCCS
Mrs. Farrar was born and raised in the Columbus area and graduated from New Albany High School. She completed her Psychology degree at Ohio University, at which point she felt a calling to become a teacher. Mrs. Farrar worked for a school year in a preschool in Columbus before moving to the University of Dayton to earn a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education. She previously taught at a preschool for children with special needs in Columbus for 17 years. She says, "it's my absolute privilege of being a teacher is watching children grow into their full potential! I'm moving to the Sandusky area with my husband, who is a SCCS graduate, and our 2 daughters who will be attending SCCS. We are looking forward to enjoying a more rural lifestyle and becoming a part of a great community!"
MRS. BURCH RIDING FOR A CURE
Velosano is an annual bike riding event where 100% of the money goes directly to cancer research at the Cleveland Clinic campuses. Obviously you all know that this is a cause that is very close to my heart because of Anna. There is no pressure to donate but my heartfelt appreciation goes out to you if you decide to. I mentor 12 families of pediatric cancer patients at the Cleveland Clinic and I feel confident in also expressing their gratitude. Only 4% of federal cancer funding goes to pediatric cancers so the need is great! I have included a link to my fundraising page in case you choose to check it out. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to seeing you all again soon!
