SANDUSKY CENTRAL CATHOLIC SCHOOL NEWS

StopIt BULLYING REPORTING TOOL
Sandusky Central Catholic School is committed to creating a positive, healthy environment for all of our students to grow and thrive. One resource we are using to make sure we are meeting that benchmark is the StopIt bullying reporting tool. SCCS defines bullying as, "any intentional written, verbal, graphic, or physical act that a student or group of students exhibits toward other particular student more than once and the behavior causes mental or physical harm; it creates an intimidating, threatening or abusive educational environment for the other student. This includes electronic communication as well." If students are exhibiting these behaviors, StopIt may be used as an anonymous reporting tool for students and parents. All students will be able to access StopIt through the website: appweb.stopitsolutions.com. Our school code is: SCCSPanthers.

INTERESTED IN JOINING THE BAND?
Over the past two weeks, children have been trying out instruments in music class to see if they would like to join the band program.  If your child is interested in playing an instrument, we will be having a Band Open House next Thursday, September 13, from 6:00pm-8:00pm.  During this time, you will be able to get an idea on pricing options and meet with Mr. Hadsell and Mrs. Nave.  Representatives from Forte Music and Second Wind Music Store will be present as well.  If you have any questions, please email Mr. Hadsell at Mhadsell@sanduskycc.org.

VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP FORM
There are many different ways to volunteer your time at SCCS. Please click here for a 2018-2019 SCCS Volunteer Form. Thank you!

TLC COLLECTING POP TABS
SMCC's Teen Leadership Corps class is conducting a school-wide pop tab collection for the Ronald McDonald House in Northwestern Ohio. This is an ongoing drive that will continue into the spring of 2019. We are asking that our Panther Family help others in their time of need by keeping the tabs from aluminum cans. The Ronald McDonald House recycles the tabs, and with the money they receive from this recycling, they are able to provide meals and housing accommodations for their guests at no charge. Last year, the Ronald McDonald House helped over 500 families while their children received medical care in Toledo.

FINAL FORMS UPDATE
Now that the school year has begun, we would like all parents to please log into their Final Forms accounts to verify and update any information shown. This will allow us to keep accurate contact methods. Please log in using the following link: https://sanduskycentralcatholic-oh.finalforms.com

Important information for Middle School and High School
Parents of students in grades 6-12 will need to read and accept the "1:1 Device Acceptable Use Policy" in Final Forms before the student will be issued their device for the school year. Please complete this online as soon as possible.

If you are having trouble accessing Final Forms, please email Mr. Riedy at  triedy@sanduskycc.org  for assistance.

CAFETERIA SYSTEM UPGRADE
In the coming weeks, we will begin to implement an upgrade to our cafeteria system, allowing us to eliminate the use of cards. Students will no longer need to carry their paper cards through the lunch line and instead will begin tapping their fingers. Students will be identified at the register using bio-metrics from their finger.  No images of fingerprints are stored on the system, only a unique code generated by the fingerprint is used to confirm the student's identity.

The other aspects of our lunch program will remain the same and you can continue to deposit funds onto your child(ren)'s account by using  https://www.k12paymentcenter.com/. For anyone unfamiliar with K12 Payment Center, by registering on their website you can see what items are being purchased, check balances, and deposit funds. All you need to sign up is your student's ID number, which can be found on their report cards or current ID card.
