Therefore, ONLY students who would like a quiet space for studying and preparing will be allowed in the media center during the mornings of exams. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Milian.

FREE AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING!
Students and parents – MIDTERMS ARE COMING!! PLEASE take advantage of this FREE opportunity offered by our juniors and seniors of National Honor Society. Students that need help or support in any of their classes can stay after school on any Tuesday and/or Thursday from 4-5 p.m. or during Excel and work with an NHS member. No appointment or reservation is needed. Students can also request tutoring in the mornings or during lunches, however, an appointment for these times must be made with Mrs. Milian so she can secure an available tutor. ALL our students have plenty of opportunities to get some extra help when they need it! For more info, please email or call me in the media center. *Note: Tuesday, December 14th will be the LAST day for after school tutoring before Winter Break. There will be NO TUTORING on Dec. 16th or 21st due to mid-terms and early release.

Midterm exams are quickly approaching. Students will be released early each day during exams, so please review schedule below. Students will have an exam or culminating project for EVERY class, so students need to be present. Co-op students DO have an exam to take on campus. Cap & Gowns - Absolute LAST day to order is January 1, 2022.

Senior Dues
Senior Dues covers your graduation expenses (such as arena rental, arena security, parking, flowers, diplomas, GPA honor cords, and printing of tickets and programs), a Senior t-shirt, as well as Seniors-only activities. IMPORTANT NOTE: Graduation is currently scheduled at UNF Arena. Due to the size of your class and the seating at UNF, this limits your available tickets to 6 per graduating Senior. Ms. Kunze is actively looking for a larger venue. If a larger venue is secured, additional graduation fees will be announced.
Senior dues must be paid in order to be eligible to purchase tickets for prom, keep your reserved spot for GradBash, attend graduation, and receive a printed diploma. Seniors who pay their dues after the deadline are not guaranteed a Senior t-shirt.

Class of 2022 Schoology Group
Our senior class has 777 members, yet only 351 Seniors have joined our Senior Schoology group. This group is where we publish information about upcoming events, graduation, senior week, GradBash, t-shirts, and more. If you want a voice in your senior year, you MUST join! If you are Dual Enrollment, this is a GREAT way to stay connected! To Join, Seniors should navigate to Groups in their Schoology account and join the group using this code: NFBJ-8Q36-T5TM7

Class of 2022 Remind
Seniors and their parents can join the Class of 2022 Remind to stay up to date on senior class information. Please note that everyone joins through the join information below, but because of Remind limitations we may move you into a different section. When this happens you will get two notifications from Remind – 1 that you have been added to a new section and 2 a notification that you have been removed from the initial section. You do not need to rejoin! All sections get the same information! Please do not rejoin as that fills up the queue and prevents announcements from being delivered.
If you would also like to be updated on Senior Class information by using Remind you can join the class of 2022 Remind by texting @bgkde7c to the number 81010

Their work can be seen along the coast from St. Mary’s Island to Palm Coast. His son is a graduate of NHS and his daughter is a current Panther. THANK YOU for your support, CSG!

Academy News

Academy Intent to Return Process
This month, all Academy students will be asked to indicate if they want to remain in their Academy for the 2022-23 school year by signing an Intent to Return roster in their Academy class. If the student checks “Yes,” than that student will be automatically re-enrolled in the Academy for 2022-23. The student will also receive a recommendation to move on to the next-level Academy course, as long as he/she is meeting Academy requirements.

If an Academy student checks “No” on the roster to indicate that he/she does not want to continue in the Academy next year, a Program of Choice Drop Form will be sent home for the student and a parent to sign after winter break, confirming that the student would like to be removed from the Academy for the 2022-23 school year.

Students who will be zoned for Beachside High School in 2022-23 but are returning Nease Academy students can remain at Nease. These students will then be designated as out-of-zone Academy students. The St. Johns County School District does guarantee transportation to students attending an out-of-zone school. Because transportation is not guaranteed to out-of-zone students in our district, families need to discuss whether they can provide transportation to students who are zoned for Beachside High School, if the district doesn’t provide bussing. As long as the student can provide transportation, keeps an Academy course on his/her schedule every year, and remains within Academy grade and behavioral guidelines, he/she can attend an out-of-zone school.

If you have any questions regarding the Communications Academy, Academy of Hospitality & Tourism, or the Stellar Academy of Engineering, reach out to Jaime Combs at [email protected]
IB News
Our fourth IB Booster meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 13th, 2021 at 9:45 a.m. in the Media Center Classroom. All visitors will be required to sign-in. Please make sure you are registered volunteer to attend.

Thank you to all who have joined the IB Booster club! If you haven’t joined, there is still time. You can go to our website, www.neaseibboosters.org. For our senior families, your membership comes with a senior stole that your student will wear at graduation this May.
Guidance News
Are you interested in taking dual enrollment courses next year? If so, join Ms. Stricklin in M-107 during EXCEL on December 8 and December 15 to learn more about the program and how to apply/register. You can also check out the Dual Enrollment Prospective Schoology Page (Access Code: QQ65-FS9N-6FGTM) to see how you can get started. There will also be a MANDATORY dual enrollment meeting on January 10 and 11 with session times before school, after school, and during lunch. You must attend one of these meeting times to be eligible for dual enrollment and to place courses on your schedule for next year. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Stricklin.

PARENT/ADULT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! PLEASE HELP US!
Our school library media center is the “heart” of our school and a HUGE part of our student life on campus. Please remember that you MUST be a district approved volunteer. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email me at [email protected] . Thank you so much! You’re going to LOVE our space and all our incredible students!

COFFEE STATION DONATIONS!
THANK YOU SO MUCH to all our families that have donated so many supplies to keep our student coffee station running! The students absolutely love this little FREE perk we offer in our media center. We could still use some of the following items if you are willing and able to help donate so we can keep this going for our students.
·      Hot chocolate (kpods or packets)
·      Tea bags (for our tea drinkers 😊 )
·      Creamer (individual packs or powdered. No refrigerated creamers please)
·      Sugar (individual small packets)

Thank you so much for anything you can help out with so we can continue this little “perk” for our students.

SENIORS!! Get your “Panther Café Senior Tile”! This is your chance to IMMORTALIZE yourself in our library!
ALL seniors have the opportunity to take home one of our café area ceiling tiles, paint and personalize it, then have it placed back into our ceiling for a donation of $25. The money raised from this fundraiser will be used to purchase new computers for our media center and at the same time have our seniors immortalized in our café as these will never be repainted! Please contact me in the media center for more information.
