We are planning for a wonderful 23-24 school year and are excited to share dates for Panther Pick-up and 9th grade Link Crew Orientation. The dates and sign-up geniuses are below. A Special Edition Panther Press will be sent later this week with specifics for Panther Pick-up.

How is Panther Pick-up different than Link Crew’s Freshman Orientation?

Panther pick-up is for ALL students grades 9 – 12 and parents to be on campus. This is a time for students to pick-up parking tag, pick-up pre-ordered PE uniforms, rent locker, join PTSO/IB Boosters/ROTC Boosters and walk their schedule until they are comfortable.

• 9^th & 10^th grade Panther Pick-up is Monday, August 7^th from noon to 6pm. 
• Please use the sign-up Genius to select a time slot.

Link Crew’s Freshman Orientation is August 3rd OR 8th from 5pm to 8pm. 

Link Crew is a junior and senior organization where each member is assigned a group of freshmen to mentor. This year we are allowing 9^th graders to select the night they attend. It is EXTREMELY important that a date is selected using the sign-up Genius’ below by Wednesday, July 26^th so Link Crew leaders can form groups.

Link Crew will also provide an orientation to all new students entering 10^th, 11^th and 12^th grade on Friday, August 4^th from 3-5pm. You do not need to sign-up, just show up.

Class of 2024 Remind

2024 Seniors and their parents can join the Class of 2024 Remind to stay up to date on senior class information. Please note that everyone joins through the join information below, but because of Remind limitations we may move you into a different section. When this happens you will get two notifications from Remind – 1 that you have been added to a new section and 2 a notification that you have been removed from the initial section. You do not need to rejoin! All sections get the same information! Please do not rejoin as that fills up the queue and prevents announcements from being delivered.  If you would also like to be updated on Senior Class information by using Remind you can join the class of 2024 Remind by texting @nease2024 to the number 81010

TEXTBOOK HELP IN MEDIA CENTER!

I need many student volunteers during the week of July 24^th unpacking, counting, and moving textbooks as well as organizing the media center for “back to school” time. Below is a link for any students that would like to earn service hours helping me out that week. Students MUST wear sneakers – no flip flops or sandals and must be able to move around boxes of workbooks.

TEXTBOOKS AND LIBRARY BOOKS

Any textbooks/library books that were not returned have been marked as “LOST” and charged off to student accounts. Mrs. Millian will be back on campus the week of July 24^th with limited hours. Students will not be able to check out textbooks for the new school year until their accounts are reconciled. Please understand that once students check out textbooks, they are responsible for their care and return as per Florida State Statute 1006.42 (see below). This past school year we received many textbooks with extensive damage, especially water damage.

Florida State Statute outlines textbook responsibilities and accountability:

1006.42 Responsibility of students and parents for instructional materials.—All instructional materials purchased under the provisions of this part are the property of the district school board. When distributed to the students, these instructional materials are on loan to the students while they are pursuing their courses of study and are to be returned at the direction of the school principal or the teacher in charge. Each parent of a student to whom or for whom instructional materials have been issued, is liable for any loss or destruction of, or unnecessary damage to, the instructional materials or for failure of the student to return the instructional materials when directed by the school principal or the teacher in charge, and shall pay for such loss, destruction, or unnecessary damage as provided under s. 1006.28(3).
