Principal's Message

Dear Families:

It is hard to believe that the 2017-2018 school year  is coming to a close. Nine months have passed very quickly!   The end of the year always brings with it a significant sense of accomplishment and pride.    A tremendous amount of learning and growing has taken place this year.   The children should be proud of themselves, the teachers should be proud, and you, the parents should be proud of all that our students have accomplished this year.  E qually as important, our students have demonstrated great character! Our Panthers have ROARed this year!

On behalf of the entire Prairie Grove staff, I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for being a partner in your child's education.  We wish you all a safe and happy summer.

Best regards,
Martha Maggiore
Principal

Important Information from our School Nurse

End of the Year Medication Pick Up.....

If your child has medication in the nurse's office at either school,  an adult must pick up the medication.  The medications will be available for pick up at the end of the school day today.  After today, the medications will be in the elementary office.   We ask that all medication be picked by Wednesday, June 6, 2018.  All medication that is not picked up will be properly disposed of.  Thank you.

What is a RAVE Review?
A RAVE Review (Recognize a Valued Employee) is an unsolicited special recognition that acknowledges a Prairie Grove staff member who has really helped you or your student or has been highly effective and motivating. Our staff takes great pride in helping students achieve their potential. Take a few minutes and let a staff member know how much you appreciate their work!

New Course Offerings for 6th Grade Students

As you may recall, earlier this year, we asked for your input regarding our Junior High co-curricular course offerings. After reflecting on the information we gathered from parents, teachers, and students, we have made some exciting improvements that will positively impact our sixth grader students for the 2018-2019 school year. We want our students to be able to explore numerous interests and are including several courses that will offer every student a broad range of experiences.

All of our sixth grade students will participate in the following courses:

General Music course (six weeks)
General Art course (six weeks)
New S.T.E.M. course (six weeks)
New Digital Citizenship course (six weeks)
Spanish course (twelve weeks)

More information regarding our new courses will be made available to parents in August.

Schedules and/or Class Placements

Junior high students will be notified of their class placement (homeroom teacher, schedules, accelerated, or honors placement) in August.
