Catholic Schools Week Set to "Celebrate Inclusive Community" February 1 to February 5

This week, San Joaquin Memorial High School will join thousands of other Catholic schools across the country in celebrating the annual Catholic Schools Week. Students will be treated to a virtual Mass on Wednesday of Catholic Schools Week. Throughout the week, students will get special treats during the school day.

Catholic Schools Week is an annual event celebrated by Catholic schools nationwide, honoring the value of Catholic education.

"Being at a Catholic School is a unique experience that offers students and staff opportunities and forums inaccessible to other schools," said Clarissa Myers, SJM Director of Campus Ministry. "Likewise, there is a dynamic at Catholic schools that cannot be found anywhere else - this is why we celebrate. We celebrate Catholic Schools Week because it's important to acknowledge that being at a Catholic school is a gift and a blessing. There are many great things that happen at San Joaquin Memorial and CSW is a week in the school year that allows us to come together to celebrate these things and one another as a community."

Annual Events Rescheduled

Due to COVID-19, several annual San Joaquin Memorial events have needed to be rescheduled.

Our SJM Baseball Texas Hold'em Tournament, typically held in January, will be held instead in January 2022.

"Our Texas Hold Em tournament has become a tradition and a huge part of the Memorial baseball program over the years," said JD Salles, Head Baseball Coach at SJM. "Not only does this event support our program, but it allows for our alumni to get together and celebrate the baseball program here at Memorial. The continued support of our athletic programs is highly important as we continue to grow as a school. Thank you for all of the support over the years. Go Panthers!"

Our Crab Feed, held each year in February, will be back on February 19, 2022.

SJM would like to thank all of our supporters of these events. We look forward to when we can all celebrate together again!
