The National PTA has been bringing the arts to life since 1969 through its Reflections Art Program. The program is designed to encourage students to express themselves and unleash their creative talents.  All MVMS students are invited to participate.

The theme for 2018/2019 is "Heroes Around Me," and students are encouraged to submit original artwork in the area of Photography or Visual Arts.  Artworks must be submitted to the MVMS front office by Monday, November 26.

Questions? Please contact Monique DiComo at  evp@ptsamvms.org.

Volunteering at MVMS

Community First Volunteering

There is nothing that bonds people more than choosing to help another.  Volunteering your time is one of the greatest gifts your student can give.

Play bingo with seniors at The Fireside Apartments in Mill Valley, help out fellow community patrons at the Mill Valley library, or make a meal for the homeless at Glide Church in San Francisco. There are so many great ways to give back!

Students earn Community First hours with their independent volunteering, towards special school recognition.

Holiday Wishes Gift Drive
Now through Saturday,
December 8th, 2018

During Holiday Wishes, MVMS partners with local, community-based organizations to provide holiday gifts to children and families in our area who face challenging conditions.  This year's amazing partners include:
  • Project Night Night
  • Homeward Bound of Marin
  • Marin Foster Parent Association
  • Side By Side Services
  • Huckleberry Youth Foundation
  • The Center for Domestic Peace
MVMS works closely with some pretty incredible direct service organizations to determine their client wishes for the holidays.   You can be a part of helping some special families receive a holiday gift, and your student may learn a little about challenges and causes of poverty.

Look for an email blast this week, with our Holiday Wishes gift & volunteer sign up.  We'd love to have your help!  Holiday Wishes culminates in a special school gift wrapping party on Saturday, December 8th  from 9 am to 11 am, in the MVMS library, where students, staff & parent volunteers wrap donated gifts and sign holiday cards.

Students are able to earn Community First service hours for their volunteerism, and are invited through morning announcements to a Community First lunch and learn, where they can gain insight and education on issues in our community.

Thank you MVMS for working so hard to put your  "Community First!"
