Redeemed!

Lift High the Cross: Each month, our students learn a new hymn, and last month's Hymn of the Month was LSB 837 Lift High the Cross. Our students sing this hymn with joy and passion, especially as they sing the refrain, "Lift high the cross, the love of Christ proclaim Till all the world adore His sacred name." The cross always points us to Christ, the One who has redeemed us. It is interesting that the Roman cross meant a gruesome one way journey to humiliation, suffering, excruciating pain, and death. And yet, we sing about lifting the cross high, because we know that Jesus took upon our punishment for our sins and was humiliated, suffered, felt excruciating pain, and ultimately died because of His great love for us. Through His death and resurrection on the cross, we are forgiven and redeemed and will spend eternity with Him in perfection. His crucifixion is our greatest victory! May we continue to keep the cross held high as we follow Him.

Serving in Worship: The Seraphim Choir (grades 5-8) will be singing in church on Sunday, October 20. Students will warm up at 9:10am in the music room. Thank you!

We will tally the totals to determine a winner before the big game on Saturday, October 26. The winning team will have their team's fight song played every day the following week for the closing bell. Panther Athletics

Volleyball Highlights: The girls volleyball teams traveled to Bay City on Monday to take on the Faith Wildcats. The B-team split the first two sets and were able to pull out a victory in the third set to win the match 2-1. The A-team had some very close games with the Wildcats, but they lost their match, 0-3. On Wednesday, it was another Panthers vs. Panthers match-up as our girls hosted Peace. Both teams had very exciting matches. The B-team again split the first two sets, and then they won the third set, winning the match 2-1 in back-to-back wins for the week. The A-team won their first set 31-29 and then went on to win the next two sets, winning the match 3-0. On Monday, the girls will play at Immanuel, Bay City and the B-team will play five sets to 15 for their match. The A-team will follow, and they will have their regular three set match.
