Week of January 21st, 2019
WEEKLY HIGHLIGHT AND SCORES

SWIMMING the boys and girls team traveled to Upper Perk on Tuesday to take on Upper Perk and Pottsgrove. The boys team picked up their first win in school history against Pottsgrove winning 61-24! The girls dropped both matches on Tuesday losing to Upper Perk 76-18, and Pottsgrove 70-24. On Thursday the team traveled to Boyertown. The boys dropped their portion of the meet 99-47 , while the girls dropped their meet 97-62 . Angleo Burgese '21 in the 100 Back, Josh Murtaugh '21 in the 100 Breast, and the 400 Free relay of Matthew Brun '21 , Angelo Burgese '21 , Zack Azar '19, and Jayson Leary '21 competed well for the Panthers. For the girls Erin Gibson '19 in the 100 Back, Hilary Mack '22 in the 100 Breast, the 400 Free relay team of Kathryn Kessler '22, Rebecca Shureman '19 , Kayla Chamberlain '20 , and Tara Soda '19 all performed well for the Panthers.

BOYS BASKETBALL the team entered the last week of their home stretch on Tuesday against Owen J. Roberts . Drew McKeon '20 hit 4 three's but the defense could not hold off the Wildcats; losing the game 55-44. Justin Green '21 added 9 points and 11 rebounds while Vince Tulli '19 added 7 and Chris White '19 added 6 in the loss. On Thursday the boys took on Pottsgrove at home. The game of the week did not disappoint! The Panthers downed Pottsgrove 81-65. Chris White '19 led all scoring with 23 points including 4 threes. Drew McKeon '20 chipped in with 17, Justin Green '21 added 16, and Sean Busytnowicz '19 added 15 in the win. The highlight of the week came on Saturday as the team traveled to Phoenixville - t he Panthers defeated the Phantoms 61-58 in overtime on a Drew McKeon '20 long three at the buzzer. Tyshyre Malachi '19 led the scoring for the Panthers with 19 points. Chris White '19 and Justin Green '21 each added 12, while McKeon '20 added 10 points in the win.

GIRLS BASKETBALL in the last week of their road schedule the girls traveled to Owen J. Roberts on Tuesday. After a well played fourth quarter the Panthers fell short losing the game 48-42. Kallan Bustynowicz '21 led the scoring for the Panthers with 16 points, while Elise Sylvester '19 added 11 points. Other contributors for the Panthers in the loss were Tess Crossan '22 with 6 points, Amelia Kennedy '22 with 5 points, and Lauren Cuba '19 and Kayla Viney '20 both with 2 points. On Thursday the team was back on the road to Pottsgrove . The team lost in the final second 32-30. Elise Sylvester '19 and Tess Crossan '21 both scored a team high 9 points. Lauren Ciuba '19 added 6 points and Kallan Bustynowicz '21 added 3 points in the loss. The girls took on Phoenixville Friday at home. The Panthers made easy work of the Phantoms winning 52-29. Mary Kate Shannon '20 led all scoring with 16 points. Kallan Bustynowicz '21 added 14 points while Amelia Kennedy '22 contributed 10 points.

WRESTLING was at home this week on Wednesday against Phoenxiville . The Panthers squad could not overcome the Phantoms and lost the match 58-24. Ryan Vulakh '19 (152), Jack Files '19 (195), and Nick Togno '22 (106) all posted wins in the loss. Matt Vulakh '21 (113) won by forfeit. This weekend three of our wrestlers competed at Escape the Rock . Ryan Vulakh '19 won the 152lb weight class. Jack Files '19 came in 6th in the 195lb weight class. Matt Vulakh '21 placed 8th at the 106lb weight class. The rest of the wrestling team competed at the Warpath Invitational over the weekend.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
The Panthers finished off an exciting week with a win vs. Phoenixville on Friday behind the 3 point sharp-shooting of MK Shannon. Shannon connected for 16 points to lead the Panthers to a 52-29 victory. The team currently sits tied for first in the Frontier Division!

Girls Basketball is taking on the #3 seed in District 1 at home on Saturday January 26th. The girls look to down the Warriors and lock up a home game in the 1st round of a Districts with a win. Come out and support the girls then stick around for trivia night!
