WEEKLY HIGHLIGHT AND SCORES

BOYS BASKETBALL started off their holiday break with a tough match up with Methacton . The Panthers could not fight off the sharp shooting Warriors and lost the game 69-49. Drew McKeon '20 posted a team high 17 points, while Justin Green '21 added 11 and Sean Bustynowicz '19 added 10. After Christmas, the Panthers took part in the Marple Newtown Holiday Tournament. The team took on Penn Charter in the opener and got back in the win column downing PC 70-55. Drew McKeon '20 had a game high 28 points followed by Tyshyre Malachi '19 with 17 points. The Panthers returned on 12/29 to take on the host Marple Newtown and came away as tournament Champions. The Panthers downed the Tigers 67-56. Again Drew McKeon '20 and Tyshyre Malachi 19 led the stat sheet scoring 27 and 14 points respectively while Vince Tulli '19 added 11. McKeon '20 was named tournament MVP. Malachi '19 and Justin Green '21 were named to the tournament team. Once school was back in session the boys traveled to Pottstown . The Panthers could not overtake the Trojans and dropped the divisional match up 61-49. Tyshyre Malachi '19 led all the PJP scorers with 16 points and Justin Green '21 added 14. To finish off the week the boys took on Upper Merion at home. The Panthers couldn't hold the Vikings and lost 42-41 in the last seconds. Drew Mckeon '20 led the scoring with 16 points while Justin Green '21 added 15 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL started their break with a heart breaking loss to Methacton . The Panthers dropped the game 35-34. Elyse Sylvester '19 led the scoring with 16 points followed by Lauren Ciuba '19 with 8 points. The girls also competed in the Marple Newtown Holiday tournament. The girls took on Downingtown East on 12/28. The Panthers couldn't fight off the Whippets and lost the game 43-34. Kallan Bustynowicz '21 led the Panthers with 10 points, while Amelia Kennedy '22 added 8 points. The girls traveled back to Marple on Saturday 12/29 to take on host Marple Newtown . This time the Panthers came out victorious winning the game 48-30. Lauren Ciuba '19 led all scoring with 21 points. Elyse Sylvester '19 added 8 points, while Tess Crossan '22 , Amelia Kennedy '22 and Mary Kate Shannon '20 each added 5 points. Ciuba '19 , Sylvester'19 and Bustynowicz '21 were all named to the tournament team. After the break the Panther resumed PAC play with Pottstown on Thursday. The team made easy work of the Trojans winning 57-11. Elyse Sylvester '19 scored 11 points, Mary Kate Shannon '20 scored 10 points, and Haley Jackson '21 added 8 points in the win. The girls ended their week at Upper Merion and came home with a win downing the Vikings 34-15. Elyse Sylvester '19 and Kallan Bustynowicz '21 added 13 points each for the Panthers.

Wrestling traveled to two tournaments over the holiday break. The first was Beast of the East which took place at the University of Delaware Ryan Vulakh '19 placed 1st in the 152 lb weight class, Matt Vulakh '21 placed 5th at 106 lb weight class and Jack Files '19 placed just out of medal contention at the 195 lb weight class. The team placed 27th out of the 116 team tournament. The following weekend the Vulakh brothers and Files traveled to Canon-McMillan High School to compete at the Powerade tournament. Again Ryan Vulakh '19 secured the 152 lb Championship defeating the #3 wrestler in the country at that weight class. Matt Vulakh '21 placed 7th at the 106 lb weight class.

TYSHYRE MALACHI, SENIOR
BOYS BASKETBALL
Senior Tyshyre Malachi has proved to be a leading offensive force for the Panthers. During the break, the team took home first place in the Marple Newtown Holiday Tournament, and Malachi was named to the tournament team along with teammates Justin Green and Andrew McKeon. Tyshyre contributed 17 points and 14 points, respectively. He was the leading scorer with 16 points in the first game back of the new year vs Pottstown.

Swim takes on Lansdale Catholic Saturday at 2:00 PM! The meet will be held at the North Penn YMCA. Come out and cheer on the Panthers as they take on the Crusaders in a non league match up.

On Saturday, December 22nd the girls basketball team volunteered at Sacred Heart Parish - participating in the St. Martin de Porres Food and Clothing Drive. The team donated non-perishable food items, and helped to pack the truck of all collected goods!
