Week of April 15th, 2019
Baseball
Despite a slow start to the week with close losses to Methacton (5-4) and Pottstown (8-6), baseball finished the week with a victory over the visiting Upper Merion Vikings . Bryan Bendig '19 allowed just 1 hit in four innings of work on the mound. Ryan O'Neill '19 and John DeBusi '19 added doubles in the win, while Tyler Petery '20 went 2-2 with 2 runs scored and two RBI's

Softball
Softball split the week with two PAC Divisional wins vs Pottstown (12-1) and Upper Merion (6-4), while dropping contests vs. GMA (5-3) and Methacton (7-1). Isabella Ricevuto '2 1 added hits in both games, a triple against Pottstown and she drove in two runs against Upper Merion. Grace Harvey '19 notched a home run against Pottstown, while Madison Dunn '19 pitched 5 innings allowing just two hits, 1 run and striking out 5 in the defeat of the Trojans.

Boys Tennis
The Panthers got an early 7-0 win vs Pottstown, and narrowly missed out on victory vs Upper Merion, 4-3. On Thursday the team traveled to Pottsgrove which ended in a 6-1 loss. Ben Grimm '19 defeated his opponent for the lone win. Boy Tennis competed in the PAC Singles tournament on Friday. The PJP representatives were Tommy Rutkowski '21 and JT Collins '21. In and interesting turn of events Tommy and JT had to duel with each other to see who would move on to the District 1 singles tournament. Tommy Rutkowski will be moving on to the District 1 AA singles tournament.

Girls Lacrosse
Despite an early week 15-13 loss to Phoenixville, the Girls lacrosse had two very solid wins to finish the week beating both opponents by at least 10 goals. The team scored a 18-8 win vs. Pottstown and a 20-6 win vs. Norristown.
Kallan Bustynowicz '21 notched a combined 10 goals for the Panthers. Rory Nilsen '21 added 8 goals on the week, while Grace Drewicz '21 had over 20 saves in the three games the team the had last week.

Boys Lacrosse
Boys Lacrosse looks to ramp up their offense going as we move to the second half of the season. The team have a rough week with losses to Archbishop Wood, Pottsgrove, and PV. While the Panthers only have one win on the season Jack Dawson '19 has been impressive in the goal. He notched 14 saves against a strong PV offense, Chris Morgado '19 and Dom Romania '21 each tallied one goal in the 15-2 loss to Perkiomen Valley .

Girls Track and Field
PJP The girls track team dominated the Phantoms in a home meet on Monday, April 8th with a score of 112-32. The girls won 16 or 18 events. Heather Lesinski '21 and Katie Schiele '20 teamed up in the sprints and 4x100, while Katy Todd '22 (1st 1600, 2nd 800) , Kayla Croiger '22 (1st HJ, 300 H, 3rd 400) , and Katie Fallon '20 (1st discus and shot) scored in multiple events.

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Heather Lesinski, Sophomore
Girls Track and Field
Heather leads the girls sprint squad, and ran away with two wins last week in the 100 and 200 vs Phoenixville. She also wa a part of the winning 4x100 relay. The girls track and field team remain undefeated as they head into the second half of the regular season. Heather also placed in the top 10 in 100 meter dash in the Viking Invitational on Saturday out of a field of 37 runners with a time of 13.27.

Boys Track and Field
Despite a good showing a depth vs. Phoenixville, the Panthers lost a close meet 70-80. PJP won all three relays. Other 1st place finishes came from Sal Marano '19 in the 200m (23.98), Jack Phillips '19 in the 800m (2:10.15), Jack Flynn '21 in the 3200 (11:39.93), Cole Ridgley in the Long Jump (18'5.75), AJ Natale '19 in the shot put (39'0.5)
