Senior Jack Phillips Discusses Service and Volunteering
How can one student help to coordinate nearly 1,200 service hours? Jack Phillips has figure it out and shared his experience with us! The first step is finding a cause to partner with. Jack found the Sebastian Riding Associates in 2016. The organization is a barn located in Evansburg State Park which offers therapeutic horseback riding for children with disabilities. He found this to be a great option for service hours. Each summer the SRA hosts three summer camps, where Jack first helped as a volunteer. The next step was to take on more responsibility at the SRA. Soon after he became the PJP Volunteer Director. In 2017 he recruited 17 students to help with summer camps and maintenance work, and in 2018 he was able to grow that number to 27. Finally, Jack worked with the ministry office to help get the word out about the opportunity, as well as encouraged friends to spread the word about the organization. This is not the only way Jack has helped to support the SRA. As a member of the cross country team, he has encouraged members to participate in the Legs for Lindsey 5k that occurs each summer in August. The proceeds from the race help to fund the SRA. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Jack!

Important Information from the PJPAC

The fall sports season is here and we need your help! Again this year, the PJPAC will be running the snack stand for all athletic events. The proceeds from last year totaled over $20,000. This money was used to purchase athletic equipment, a PJP pop-up tent, volleyball nets, tennis benches and many other needed supplies. We also helped support the priorities of the PJPAC by helping buy senior gifts and support team building activities.

This year we have put together a Sign-up that includes all athletic events for the fall season and the snack stand shifts that need to be filled. Please use the link below to sign up for your shift. It can be for your child's game or any other game. Each fall sports family is being asked to take at least one shift. This money directly benefits all our student athletes.

Your student can also volunteer and earn service hours as long as an adult is also signed up to work the same shift.

We appreciate your support as we try to raise more money this year to support all our PJP athletic teams! Go Panthers!
The PJPAC will be hosting their 3rd Annual Beef and Beer on September 8, 2018 from 6 PM- 10 PM. This Night at the Races event will feature 50/50's, basket raffles, and horse races. Of course there will also be food and beer! This event is for parent and friends to meet and socialize with each other. All proceeds from this event will benefit PJP student athletes.
