Week of February 4th, 2019
Best of luck to our cheerleaders as they travel to Disney World in Orlando, Florida to compete in UCA Cheer Nationals!

SWIMMING held their Senior Day on Saturday against Carroll. The boys were able to defeat the Patriots 80-67 and picked up their second win of the season, while the girls lost a close meet 80-86.

BOYS BASKETBALL had a short week because of the snow. On Thursday the team traveled to Upper Merion for an important divisional show down. The Panthers came out victorious downing the Vikings 70-57. Sean Bustynowicz '19 had a game high 22 points, while Justin Green '21 added 18 of his own. Chris White '19 also chipped in with 10 points in the win. With the win over Upper Merion the Panthers have secured the regular season PAC Frontier Division title. The Panthers will enter the PAC Final 6 with a bye.

GIRLS BASKETBALL also faced a short week due to the snow. The team celebrated Senior Night on Thursday at ho me against Upper Merion . The team downed the Vikings 44-26. Kallan Bustynowicz '21 led all scoring with a game high 17 points. Elise Sylvester '19 added 9 points of her own in the win. The Panthers ended up the 2nd in the Frontier Division and the 4th seed overall heading into the PAC Final 6 which begins this week.

WRESTLING had a lot to celebrate this week. The team celebrated Senior Day on Wednesday against Upper Merion. The Panthers got their first team win of the season downing Upper Merion 37-36. Ryan Vulakh '19 , Jake Rau '21 , and Jack Files '19 earned pins. Matt Vulakh '2 1 and Matt Delciotto '20 collected decisions against the Vikings. The win was also Head Coach Tom Hontz's 350th career win.

CHEER had the week off prepping for their Disney trip to compete in UCA nationals. On Sunday, the team held an open practice to perform their Disney routine for family and friends!
Sean Bustynowicz lead the charge against Upper Merion with 22 points, in a deciding game for the Panthers. The win secured the PAC Frontier Division regular season title for the team, as well as earned the Panthers a bye in the first round of the PAC Playoffs. The well balanced Panthers will take the court again on Friday at 6:00 PM at Spring-Ford in the PAC semifinals.
Coach Tom Hontz earned his 350th career win on Wednesday! This year, Coach Hontz will also be inducted into the PA Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame!

The Prayer Service and Parent Meeting will be held on Monday, March 4th at 7:00 PM, Cafeteria

All students must have the proper PIAA paperwork to participate in spring sports!

First Sport of the 18-19 school year: Sections 1-6 PIAA CIPPE Form
Physicals must be dated after June 1, 2018 in order to be valid for the 18-19 school year.

Second or Third Sport of the 18-19 school year:
Section 7 or 8 of the CIPPE Form

Students should hand their completed forms to their coach on the day of tryouts. Forms will not be accepted by the main office or athletic office prior to the start of the season.
PJP Athletics Featured in Victory Sports Magazine!
Check out the latest issue of Victory Sports Magazine, featuring stories about the Panthers girls tennis team and volleyball. Olivia DeBald '19 is featured as the writer for the volleyball article which focuses on the teams annual Panthers vs Cancer event. The event is one of the most well attended athletic events of the year, and raises money that the team donates to the Bott Cancer Center.
