FOOTBALL BEATS UPPER MERION 22-21 IN HOMECOMING GAME WIN!
WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS AND SCORES
Football celebrated Homecoming in dramatic fashion on Saturday. The team defeated Upper Merion 22-21 on a touch down pass from Kamal Gary '20 to Chris Salvo '19 with time expiring. After Upper Merion took a time out Coach Graver and the coaching staff decided to go for two instead of the kick to win the game. Again Gray completed a pass to CJ McCafferty '19 for the win. Justin Mitala '20 and AJ Natale '19 also had touchdowns for the Panthers. Gray went 17-30 on the day for 210 yards and three TD's. McCafferty also recorded a interception for the Panthers defense. Boys Soccer finished out their league schedule on Monday. The Panthers defeated the Vikings at Upper Merion on their Senior Night. Sal Marano '19 netted two goals, while AJ Williams '19 tallied one goal and one assist. Justin Russel '22 also notched an assist Goalkeeper John Wagner '19 made 10 saves. The team finished their regular season schedule on Friday at home against Marple Newtown.

Girls Soccer ended their league schedule in dramatic fashion on Monday. In a game that was originally scheduled to be played home, the Panthers downed Upper Perk in double overtime . Mary Kate Shannon '20 and Amaya Ransom '22 scored goals in the win. With the win the Panthers qualified for the PAC Final Four on Tuesday. In the PAC Semifinals the Panthers could not overtake eventual champions Owen J Roberts in a 3-0 loss. The Panthers ended the regular season in winning fashion with a 1-0 victory against nonleague opponent Lower Moreland , Mary Kate Shannon netted the game winner while Stacy Kormos recorded the shut out in goal. PJP would like to congratulate the seniors on the girls soccer team including; Julie Cherneskie , Lauren Ciuba , Madison D'Elia , Sarah Jamison , and Jessica Velicer !

Boys and Girls Cross Country competed in the PAC Championships on Thursday. The girls team finished 4th overall out of 12 teams, while the boys finished 7th out of 12 teams. Jack Philips '19 was the first PJP finisher with a time of 17:17. Jack Brosius '21 was the second PJP finisher with a time of 17:19. For the girls Gianna Cagliola '22 was the top PJP finisher with a time of 20:34 as the 11th place finisher overall. Kayla Croiger '22 was the second PJP finisher with a time of 20:58. Field Hockey ended their season on Friday vs. Upper Merion. Unfortunately the Panthers could not overcome a early deficit and lost 2-1...

Volleyball participated in the PAC Final Four this week. On Tuesday the Panthers took on the Boyertown Bears. The team go revenge after losing to the Bears earlier in the season. The Panthers downed the Bears in three straight sets. Sara Ward '20 led the team with 13 kills, Madeline Mulcahey '19 had 10 and Hanna Tulli '21 had 7. Chelsea Harvey '21 had 32 assists in the win. On Thursday it was a rematch of the 2017 PAC Championship with the Panthers taking on the Upper Merion Vikings. The girls could not repeat history and lost in three straight sets. The Football Team hosted their annual Shooting Stars Football Clinic on Sunday, October 21st. The team spent 2 hours with the members of the Shooting Stars team for drills, skills, and games!
ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
CJ McCafferty, Senior, Football
CJ caught the game winning two point conversion in the homecoming victory vs Upper Merion on Saturday, with no time left on the clock. Overall CJ connected on 2 catches 27 yards, and an interception. McCafferty currently stands 10th on the area's leading reception list. The team is ranked 1st in AAA heading into the last week of the regular season.
