WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS AND SCORES
Boys Soccer took on Pottsgrove at home on Monday. The Falcons proved too much for the Panthers who dropped the match 6-1. The lone goal for the Panthers was scored by Sal Marano '19 , who got the assist from Brett Leighton '19 . John Wagner '19 had 11 saves in the loss. On Thursday the team traveled back to Phoenixville for their second match-up of the season. Unfortunately, the Panthers could not overcome the Phantoms 3-0 lead and loss the match. Girls Soccer started their week traveling to GMA. The girls could not manage to score in the 2-0 loss. Goalie Stacy Kormos '20 made 14 saves in the game. The girls were back on the road on Tuesday. This time traveling to Pottsgrove. The Grove held PJP scoreless in the 4-0 loss. Again Kormos came up big in goal making 7 saves. The girls ended the week on a high note defeating Phoenixville 3-1. Maddie D'Elia '19 , Delanie Didier '21 and Julie Cherneskie '19 tallied goals for the Panthers, who with that win have greatly increased their chances of making the PAC Final Four for the 5th straight year. Boys Cross Country continues their dominance in PAC Frontier Division. The team was at Pottstown this week and collected their 4th win of the season. The Panthers finished in positions 1-6. Jack Philips '19 was the race winner with a time of 18:15. Kaden Buchler '21 , Jack Brosius '21 , JP Schiele '19 , Jack Flynn '21 , Jason DiMarco '22 finished 2-6 respectively. Girls Cross Country competed at Pottstown this week. The girls continued their unbeaten streak and are now 4-0. The team currently holds the top spot in the PAC Frontier Division. Gianna Cagliola '22 was the winner of the race with a time of 22:13. PJP had the next 4 finishers. Katy Todd '22 , Juila Costello '19 , Claudia Dolan '21 , and Sarah Abruzzo '20 finished 2-5 respectively. Girls Tennis continued their Senior Day match with Methacton on Tuesday. The girls dropped a heart breaker 6-0 to the Warriors. In a Tuesday double header the team also took on Boyertown. This time the girls came out victorious with a 5-2 win over the Bears. Veronica Marinari '21 and Jordan Miller '19 picked up singles wins. The sisters double team of Shannon '19 and Sydney Farnsworth '21 picked up a win, while Erin Holly '19 and Emmie Amann '21 and Kylee Smith '19 and Lina Park '19 also picked up wins against their Boyertown doubles counterparts. Field Hockey played Spring-Ford at home on Monday. Unfortunately playing on grass did not slow down the Rams as they defeated the Panthers 6-1. The Panthers then travelled to Pottsgrove on Wednesday. The team downed the Falcon 5-2 after an early season loss at home to Pottsgrove. Madisan Green '19 scored 3 goals while Kelly Pires '22 and Nina Mariano '20 each added a goal a piece. The Panthers finished the week at home against Phoenixville. The Panthers were able to take the Phantoms into overtime but came up short with 3 minutes left in OT to lose 2-1. The lone goal for the Panthers was scored by Nina Mariano '20 . Goalie Chicky Escudero '21 had 9 saves in the loss. Volleyball started the week on a high note defeating Owen J. Roberts in three straight sets on Monday. On Wednesday the team travelled to Phoenixville. The Panthers made easy work of the Phantoms defeating them in three straight sets. Lexi McMonagle '20 , Chelsea Harvey '21 and Madeline Mulcahey '19 led the stat sheet for the Panthers. Football hosted the Phoenixvile Phantoms on Saturday. After a slow first quarter the Panthers were able to turn things around and came out on top 28-12 to improve their record to 6-1. Justin Kormos '21 again came up big for the Panthers catching 3 touchdown passes from Kamal Gary '20. Gray finished the game with 269 throwing yards. Stephen Skarbek '20 also chipped in with a touchdown catch of his own. The defense also made some plays of it's own getting five sacks. Brandon Synder '19, Ambrose Colliluori '21 Matt Dobrowolski '20, Bryan Bendig '19, Sean Anderson '20 and AJ Natale '19 all got credit on defense. The defense also caused two fumbles one of which they recovered. ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Bethany Julias, Sophomore, Golf
Bethany competed at the PAC Golf Individual Championships on Thursday, September 27th in less than ideal conditions. The outcome led to a five-way sudden death playoff for 2 open district spots which continued on Monday, October 1st. Bethany played her way into the District Championships. On Monday, October 8th at the District Playoffs, Bethany shot the 4th lowest score of all the PAC girls players!
GAME OF THE WEEK
This week's game of the week is Volleyball. The team takes on PV at home, and the game is also Senior Night. The Panthers are looking to beat PV to solidify their standing in the PAC playoffs. The team also looks to improve their PIAA District 1 playoff position with a win. Good luck girls!

A Tradition Continues: Panthers vs Cancer 2018
On Monday October 1st, the PJP volleyball team hosted it’s annual Panthers Vs. Cancer game. Once again, it was a huge success! With help from the entire PJP community, We were able to raise over $5,000 to be donated to the Bott Cancer Center! The Volleyball team and athletic department would like to extend a special thank you to the cancer survivors we were able to honor at the game, including Sue Mcnulty, Mary Kate Mink, Sharon DiFillipo, Kay Ravello-Gilinger, Wendy Mastercola, Tawny Jackson, Joanne Flanagan, Beth Teefy, and Rosanna Conners-Bonnano. Along with the incredible donations, the Golden Panthers also caught the win against Owen J. Roberts. Madeline Mulcahey '19 (8 kills), Hanna Tulli '21 (8 kills), Mikaela Monroe '19 (6 kills), Julia Durand '20 (4 kills), Kallan Bustynowicz '21 (4 kills), Chelsea Harvey '21 (17 assists, 7 digs), Lexi McMonagle '21 (12 assists), Sophia Bonanno '19 (6 digs) and Simone Sparano '19 (5 digs) led the way with scores being 25-16, 25-13, 25-19. Of course this event wouldn’t be possible without help from the PJP faculty, staff, and students!
