WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS AND SCORES

Boys Soccer played two games this week and came out victorious in both. On Wednesday the team played Upper Perkiomen at home. The team won 2-1. Goals were scored by AJ Williams '19 and Sal Marano '19 . John Wagner '19 had a phenomenal day in the net with 10 saves. On Friday the team traveled to Pottsgrove where the team again won 2-1. Girls Tennis faced Phoenixville on Thursday at PJP. PJP dropped the match 5-2. The doubles teams of Shannon Farnsworth and Maggie Christiansen and Kylee Smith and Lina Park defeated their Phoenixville counterparts. Click here to see full score break downs...

Field Hockey could not top Pottsgrove on Friday and dropped the contest 4-2 .

Volleyball downed Owen J. Roberts on Wednesday September 5th 3-0. The Panthers went 25-23, 25-22, and 25-13 to win the night. Hanna Tulli '21 had 11 kills, while Madeline Mulcahey '19 and Haley Spotts '19 had 9 kills. Chelsea Harvey '21 and Maddie Lesinkski '19 led the way with assists. On Thursday the Panthers opened their home schedule against Phonenixville. The Panthers again swept their opponent 25-22, 25-15, and 25-16. Football defeated Chichester on Saturday September 8th after lightening caused the game to be delayed. After lots of back and forth the game finally took place at Chichester. The team was able to over come all of the obstacles of the day to win 21-20. Kamal Gray '20 threw for 168 and three touchdowns, AJ Natale '19 ran for 83 yards as the Panthers leading rusher. Justin Kormos '21 had two interception, 1 touchdown and blocked the extra point to preserve the Panthers lead with 1 minute left in the game. ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Justin Kormos, Sophomore, Football
Justin Kormos was a key player for the Panthers on Saturday against Chichester in less than ideal conditions. The game resumed with the Panthers down 0-7. Kormos' reception of a 70 yard pass from Kamal Gray tied the game to get the Panthers back on track. Defensively Kormos had two interceptions, and most importantly blocked the Eagles extra point late in the game to preserve the 20-21 win. The victory helped the Panthers to a 3-0 start on the season.
Community Service Spotlight
The Archdiocese of Philadelphia Recognizes PJP Athletics for the efforts of our teams' community service projects so far this year!

SIMON'S HEART SCREENING
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 30th
Don't forget to sign your son or daughter up for the Simon's Heart-Protect This Heart free heart screening. The screening is meant for teenagers between the ages of 12-19. Every student will receive a ECG and learn the basics of CPR. There will be cardiologists on site evaluating all ECG and referring students for echocardiogram if needed. Upcoming Fundraiser: Dine and Donate at Panera
September 19th!


This school year, the PJPAC will be supporting each student-athlete through the following priorities:

Team Building ($15.00 per student-athlete) - Each team will have the opportunity to host a team building event during the season, the PJPAC will cover the cost of this event!

Senior Recognition - The PJPAC will provide a 3' x 2' fabric poster and reimbursement for senior flowers.

Senior Gift ($30.00 per senior) Each senior will receive a gift at the Paulie's Athlete Banquet in May!

State Qualifier Lunch (Wawa Shorti Coupon) The PJPAC will provide a wawa shorti coupon for each team member who travels to states.
CONCESSION STAND VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

One of the main revenue generators for the PJPAC is the concession stand! Please consider volunteering for a home event by clicking on the link below.
Save the Date for PJP's 1st Annual Oktoberfest being held on Friday October 19th. The event will be held in PJP's main gym and will feature live music, beer and wine, and some German cuisine. This event will also help the older alumni, families and community kick off Homecoming. All attendees must be over 21.

Prayer Service and Parent Meeting for Winter Sports is Thursday, November 15th
First Day of Winter Sports is Friday, November 16th

INTEREST MEETINGS:
Wrestling: Wrestling will be holding an interest meeting on Tuesday, September 18th at 6:30 PM in the student commons. All students interested in wrestling this winter are invited to attend. Parents are also welcome to attend the meeting. 

Swimming: There will be a meeting for all currently PJP students interested in Swimming on Wednesday, September 26th in the student commons at 7:30 PM.
