Panther Tales

Welcome back FINALLY! What a bumpy start! Although I was somewhat disappointed when the power came back on a day early, it was a blessing because we quickly realized that something had occurred to our fire alarm system through the loss of power! That gave us Thursday and Friday to repair the damage (15 items!) so that we were able to safely start school on Tuesday. What a relief. God is always watching out for us!

Reminder during drop off, and particularly pick up time, that there is enough space for the busses to come through. The curve seems to be a particularly tough spot. Thanks for helping us out!

Great job parents in the morning! Some parents have come into the building with their children as needed, but are quickly out again, which is appreciated. It is always great when the school day has a strong start! The bus schedule has also been improving each day. We have three buses this year. If you have any questions or concerns about busing, please contact the UCS Transportation Department.

I have enjoyed visiting all the classrooms this week, as I do as often as I possibly can (so much more interesting than my office lol). Today I overheard a teacher say, “You are just the way God created you – YOU are His masterpiece!” She reminded them that even when they make mistakes, God loves them, because they are his masterpiece. I was so glad I was walking through during her lesson!

Finally, let me remind you, parents, that if you need anything, I am just a phone call or email away. I LIKE to hear ideas, even if it is something you wish I would do differently. It helps me think things through.

Blessings!

Susan Klauer

A CHALLENGE FOR EVERYONE:
adults, high school youth, junior youth, and kids

Following Jesus should be practical and straight forward.
There are hundreds of books and Bible studies on following Jesus, but few are practical and proven. Jesus modeled a whole life and even told us how to follow Him in HIS OWN WORDS (the red letters found in many Bibles). The best way to follow Jesus is simply to follow the words of Jesus. Red Letter Challenge eliminates the fluff and has helped thousands of people grow closer to God in only 40 days.

This book will be used for 9th grade through Adults.

  • Adults, see below for on-site or in-home group opportunities
  • High school youth will meet for 6 weeks on Sundays at 7:00pm beginning September 18.
This book will be used for 8th Grade and younger.

  • JYM (5th-8th Grades) Red Letter Challenge will meet on Sundays at 9:45am beginning September 18.
  • KidZone (4 years to 4th Grade) meets following the Children's Message (10:30am service) beginning Sunday, September 18
You may pick up your book(s) today, September 11, at the outdoor worship and church picnic, or in the Gathering Room during the week and next weekend.
Peace requires every Kindergarten - 8th grade family to contribute fifteen (15) volunteer hours for the school year. Please give serious thought and consideration to your volunteer hours and choose a place that you feel will be most beneficial to you and our school.

Volunteer hours must be completed. If you have done volunteer hours, please fill out the volunteer form and return it to the office. Please click the link listed below for the volunteer form. The volunteer form can also be retrieved from the office.

Volunteer opportunities are listed weekly and updated as opportunities arise. You can view the volunteer forms and opportunities at the links below.
