Will Carter and Todd Barker are new volunteers to the Community Shelter, stepping in three weeks ago at our first COVID-19 drive-thru pantry.

The two have been loading vehicles with grocery cart-loads of meat, fresh produce, staple groceries – all with words of support and care.

Will said another volunteer mentioned volunteering at the Community Shelter and “I hadn’t thought about it. My partner thought it was a great idea. What better time to help people in our community."

Their Monroe fitness facility – No Limits Fitness – has been shut down through our governor’s order, so “we have a lot of free time."

“I feel grateful to be able to do this,” Will said, "but it’s also very important to give back to people, especially since we’re fully able-bodied people. We’re very fortunate.
