Welcome to the February Issue of Key Insights Newsletter.
My father, Federico Padovan, moved our family (including grandparents) here in 1973. I was raised on the Island and left briefly to earn a BFA degree at NYU. But my heart never left Key Biscayne. So I returned to my Island Paradise home where I am raising 4th generation Key Biscayners with my husband Donnie Hall.
As a life-long resident and Realtor on Key Biscayne, I love sharing upcoming events and Interesting activities offered around our community for the residents and frequent visitors of our Island
Paradise and beyond.

How To Make Your
Love Grow
As we enter the month of love, what is the secret to keeping the love growing in your relationships? As a psychologist who works with many couples, it imperative to know what is needed for the foundation of a healthy, loving relationship. This foundation is built on trust, appreciation, and respect. If any of these pieces are missing, the foundation will be shaky.
Trust
Trust needs to be earned. Follow through on what you say. This allows the other to trust your word and your actions. Work on honest, clear communication to build trust with one another.
Appreciation
This is the piece that is usually lost first. Treat your significant other with the intention of giving/sharing all that you can with that person. Think "what more can I do for him/her?" This consciousness becomes a win-win. The more you share/appreciate your significant other, he/she feels good AND you feel good!
Respect
Another piece that strengthens the foundation in a relationship. Speaking and acting with respect to your significant other gives them a sense of value, esteem, and importance. We all feel the energy when somebody speaks respectfully or disrespectfully to their partner. Be conscious of your words, and even joking in a disrespectful manner, is still disrespect.
So as we approach Valentine's Day (and every day), work to keep your foundation strong!!

It's All About the Journey
Now that 2016 is behind us and our resolutions may or may not have come to fruition, don't beat yourself up if you're not anywhere near your desired goals. Perhaps you set those objectives up for yourself in an effort to make you happier, slimmer, more attractive or successful. Ultimately, those resolutions are created because you anticipate they will bring more joy to your life.
Why wait till the end result for the joy? Enjoy the journey and savor the process now before reaching your final destination. You'll be in a better mood, and as law of attraction would have it, you'll be in sync with a more positive-feeling emotion that brings you quicker to your goals anyhow.
The trials and tribulations of the whole process provide invaluable lessons that can shape our lives forever, and are sometimes more valuable than our final goal. Think of how many times you've looked back with a nostalgic feeling at other journeys you've taken while forgetting what it is you wanted to accomplish. We take vacations because of the excursion they provide knowing full well we will end up right back at home.
No matter where you want 2017 to take you, be excited now to be alive and to have the capacity build a block for your dreams one day at a time. After all, there is no greater gift than the present.
Remember, they're brief yet insightful, and easy to share.
