This year, on July 28, thousands of diners and food lovers from across Greater Miami will gather at
AmericanAirlines Arena - the area's biggest and most prominent venue - to watch two of our city's finest chefs go pot-to-pot in a sizzling showdown for supremacy. Also once again this year, one of the area's most celebrated chefs and a member of the famed "Mango Gang," Allen Susser, will oversee the competition.
Iron Fork will allow visitors to sample goods from more than 70 restaurants. After they've had their fill, diners can participate in a silent auction with a plethora of items including everything from restaurant certificates to culinary experiences to exciting getaways!
One hundred percent of all money raised in the auction will go to the No Kid Hungry Campaign. Leftover food from participating restaurants will benefit Feeding South Florida. Its mission is to end hunger in South Florida by providing immediate access to nutritious food, leading hunger and poverty advocacy efforts, and transforming lives through innovative programming and education.

We look forward to our summer vacation all year. We plan, we save, and we set our expectations high! What we don't count on is the stress that can accompany summer travel. Here are a few tips to reduce travel stress and make the most out of summer vacation:
1) Confirm transportation - If traveling by air, get Pre-TSA approved and avoid long security lines (and you do not have to take off your shoes.) Take carry-on bag only to reduce the stress of possible lost or delayed luggage. Also, pack change of clothes in carry-on if you need to check your luggage. If driving, research best driving days, times, and routes.
2) Plan details of vacation - Do your research about destination and schedule tours, points of interest and activities ahead of time. Plan some "down time" as well, so you are not on a tight schedule that is adding stress to your trip.
3) Be flexible - Plan ahead but have Plan B just in case.
4) Disconnect from routine - Enjoy nature, cultural experiences and activities on your vacation. These may be once in a lifetime experiences. Leave work at the office and keep work emails on a "need to do" basis. Limit use of electronics. Look out the car window instead of looking at your phone.
5) Request early check-in and late check-out - Hotels are actually considering eliminating check-in and check-out times.
6) Embrace obstacles - There are usually some bumps along the way. I like to refer to these as "adventures."
7) Be in present moment - Enjoy!! Where ever you are, be there!
Have a great summer!!

Inner Universe
Raising the vibration of the planet
One inspiration at a time
Today's Inspiration:
SUNNY ADVICE
Amongst the graduations and summer vacations around the corner, remember that acts of self-care continue to go a long way to improve our lives. Loving the self is a permanent job that pays big dividends even when our schedules change and certainly excellent advice for students moving on to new chapters of their lives while still honoring who they truly are.
Hay House author, Cheryl Richardson, shares some valuable tips for anyone welcoming a new phase in life or just making some minor changes to the usual routine.
- For example, try spending more time on the who rather than the what. Who you become is more valuable than what you do. Integrity, courage and service to others will take you further than any title.
- Follow your heart despite what everyone else thinks. After all, the relationship with yourself is the most important one.
- Honor the original thinker that you are and learn to disappoint others gracefully.
- Exercise the muscle of courage by doing something out of your comfort zone more often than not. Acts of bravery build confidence and confident people rarely settle for less.
- "Don't go to the hardware store for milk," Richardson says. Surround yourself with people that support your dreams and best interest. Don't allow the naysayers and their fear to determine your future.
Remember, they're brief yet insightful, and easy to share.

T
he summer is upon us and for many working moms, there is an overlay of stress lingering in the air. Summer Stress Syndrome is upon us.
This time of year shouldn't be filled with stress and anxiety. The summer season resonates of recharging, renewal and some much needed R & R. However, the realities of life and work for many still needs to be in a constant flow of harmony and high revenue even with sandy toes and in between sunscreen applications.
The next few months will be pure chaos for many women juggling everything and more everything. If all your kids will be home this summer while you work your little heart out from home, this may help you.
Here are some tips to help you keep your sanity while trying to be productive with rambunctious kids home for the summer.
- REALITY: Start off by being realistic about your time and objectives for the next few months. Will you finally write that book you've envisioned all year? Planning on tackling your employee handbook with a few millions edits? Are you adding a gladiator training regimen to qualify for the Boston Marathon? Set realistic goals for the summer. This may not be the time to start and finish your book or perhaps it's the perfect time. Anxiety occurs when our expectations are not in line with the current energy and present moment. Create a clear and realistic expectation for your work and life blend during this time. Setting the realistic expectation from the start will ease your anxiety.
- GOALS: Set short goals that are connected to your bigger goals. If your goal is to write a book, then perhaps write a chapter a day. Smaller pieces of the work that lead you to the bigger vision will help you to stay connected with work but all in the scope of non-stress reality. Use the time to close projects or revisit the vision of new ones. It's the perfect time to create a strategy for an awesome finale of 2016.
- FAMILY: What are some natural patterns already existing in your life? Do the kids sleep in? Are they most active in the afternoon? Schedule your day around their natural patterns of activities and energy. Review their patterns and schedule work around them. Perhaps working from 5-7 am while they are sleeping or in the evening from 9-11 pm may facilitate some amazing quality work time. Be creative and flexible and work around the family tone and natural flow. Your schedule will work best in a state of anti-chaos once you create a schedule around family and summer patterns. Be sure to block out family time as well because after all, it's summer and your downtime is calling.
Taking time away from regular work hustle gives you the time to recharge and become clear with your vision and purpose. Often, I review the first half of the year and fine tune goals and objectives for the remainder. When we disconnect and from the typical day to day grind of school and activities, peace and tranquility is remembered and achieved.
Use this summer season to focus on what matters most...balance and fluidity with some downtime too.
