If you drive a Golf Cart here are the
Rules & Regulations
The following rules apply to golf carts being used as passenger vehicles in the Village of Key Biscayne:
1. The golf cart must be registered with the Village of Key Biscayne, and have a valid permit affixed to the golf cart.
2. Any person who drives the golf cart must possess a valid operator's license and be at least 16 years of age.
3. Any person who drives the golf cart must comply with all applicable state laws regarding the requirements and usage of safety belts and child restraint equipment.
4. Golf carts are not allowed on the sidewalks, bike paths or beaches.
5. Any person who drives a golf cart must obey all local and state traffic laws, including parking regulatlons.
6. Golf carts are not allowed on Crandon Blvd., with the exception of traveling from one intersection to the next immediate intersection.
7. Golf carts may not carry more passengers than the maximum number for which the golf cart was designed.
8. Golf carts must be equipped with headlights and windshield if operated between the hours of sunset and sunrise.
9. Golf carts owners must comply with applicable state laws pertaining to insurance requirements.

How to...
get Starbucks Coffee
FOR FREE!!!
Sometimes I just can't get started with my busy day until I have my Coffee. I need my Starbucks coffee! But if you are a daily coffee drinker, that monthly Starbucks tab can be far north of $100.00. With two adults and a couple kids, you could be spending more on coffee than the lease on the family SUV. Starbucks has a little known Refill Policy that's amazing:
"My Starbucks Rewards® members at Green and Gold levels are eligible for free refills on brewed or iced coffee or tea beverages of the same size (some restrictions apply), regardless of the original beverage purchased, while they are in a participating Starbucks ® or Teavana® stores. Once you leave the store, your visit has ended and any subsequent coffee or tea refill thereafter would be considered a new purchase."
The key points with the Starbucks refill policy are:
- Order any beverage (let's use a tall mocha as an example)
- Do not leave the store.
- You may receive only a few things as a refill: tall iced coffee, tall iced tea (or hot tea), or tall brewed coffee of the day, such as Pike Place Roast.
- If you wanted another latte, mocha, or anything that is not listed as available for a refill benefit (meaning, tall iced coffee, tall iced tea (or hot tea), or tall brewed coffee of the day) you will pay full price.
- You will pay a refill fee of about $.53 (Prices can vary a little from region to region).
- Present your Starbucks card (registered, and your MyStarbucksRewards profile must be Green benefits or higher), and the register will not charge you the refill price.
- There is never any refill perk when you are in the drive thru.
- Once you walk out the front door of the store, all refill perks have come to an end.
You can join the program by one of three ways:
- Registering any Starbucks, Teavana, Evolution Fresh or La Boulange Card at https://www.starbucks.com/register with the 16-digit number on the back and the CSC (Card Security Code), which is an 8-digit number that can be found under the scratch-off coating on the back of your Starbucks Card, or below the 16-digit number on an eGift.
- Downloading the Starbucks® app for iPhone® and Android™ signing up and registering any Starbucks, Teavana, Evolution Fresh or La Boulange card.
- Entering a special Star Code at http://www.starbucks.com/card/rewards.

Need Stress Relief for the Holiday & Home Buying and Selling Season? Here are a few tips!
We all have felt the stress of the holidays. Whether you celebrate them or not, traffic increases, shopping centers are packed, parking is impossible, people's moods are more erratic and the parties are endless. Shopping for everyone and hoping all turns out well, takes its toll on us all. The stress felt during this time of year compares to planning a wedding or buying or selling your home.
For Holiday Stress relief try lowering expectations. Don't try to re-create wonderful past experiences nor should you try to fix those things that went wrong years before. Avoid the lines, do your shopping on-line and as early as possible. Buy lots of edible treats and give them as gifts to those people that aren't in your inner-circle. This is a new year so treat it as special and unique. Your greatest gift to give to yourself and others is freeing yourself of exhibiting stress. Be mindful of how it feels then acknowledge it and excuse yourself from the situation. Leave the long line and go for a walk, listen to music you enjoy. Do some deep breathing exercises. Read or watch something funny. Once you feel better, set your mind to focus on the task and give yourself a reward once completed. Like a free refill of coffee at Starbucks. As for Buying or Selling your Home, Stress can be reduced or eliminated if you find the right Realtor. A Realtor that puts themselves in your shoes and is highly empathetic to your needs can make all the difference in the level of stress. Deal only with a Realtor that has plenty of experience and knows how to solve all the known and unknown issues related to the Selling and Buying transaction.

Family & Friends CPR is for people who want to learn CPR but do not need a course completion card in CPR for their job. This course is ideal for schools and students, new parents, grandparents, babysitters and others interested in learning how to save a life!
Please note:
Several families have expressed an interest in learning lifesaving techniques in case a family member experiences a health emergency. This class was organized with them and our community in mind!

Our lives are experienced according to our perspective. Life will mirror back to us our thoughts and we enjoy our lives accordingly. Like a garden that blossoms because it is being tended to with love and devotion, the sensation on which we are focused will flourish. The same is true of negative thoughts whose origins stems from fear. Fear is the antithesis of love. Two people faced with the same dilemma can experience polar opposite outcomes in relation to their outlook. An optimistic perspective not only feels better, but it will attract the circumstances that match the emotion. The Universe mirrors back to us the vibration we put out. By having a little more compassion with ourselves, we subdue our fears, we feel better and experience rewarding results. That's what I call a win-win!
