The Aqua Party is one of the Foundation's biggest fundraising opportunities and is a highly anticipated event.

The  Aqua Party is an excellent opportunity to support the Foundation's charitable efforts while enjoying a glamorous night out in a gorgeous setting. Many of our past and current donors attend and rub elbows with board members, community leaders, and professionals.

Past events have featured chef-prepared food, and a night of dancing and mingling under the stars. This is the party that everyone will be talking about in the months to come, and tickets are now available at the individual and table levels.

What Does the Foundation Do?
The Foundation is organized around the principle
of empowering charitable-minded citizens to effect change in their community, their region, their nation and their world. Donors create a fund within the Foundation, and the gifts that are placed in that fund are then invested.
Donors are able to select the balance of stocks and bonds that best suits their investment goals and risk tolerance. From that point forward, the fund is professionally managed, giving donors the assurance that their investment will have the maximum level of charitable impact.
Grants that are made from a donor's fund will bear the donor's name. In addition, community members can also simply make a one-time donation to any of the Foundation's programs that they choose to support.

Who Benefits From Foundation Grants and Programs?
The Key Biscayne Community Foundation touches people from all walks of life in innumerable ways. Grants have helped to support art programs for children undergoing cancer treatment, provided disaster relief after the devastating earthquake in Haiti, and empowered elderly people to embrace healthy lifestyle choices.
Community partnerships have led to charitable programs in organizations that range from the Miami City Ballet to the Biscayne Bay Waterkeepers, Doctors Without Borders and to local elementary schools. Our team is always on the lookout for new opportunities to make a positive impact in the world, at both the local and global level.
Many Key Biscayne residents want to pursue philanthropic efforts but are unsure where to begin. The Aqua Party is a great opportunity to come out, meet new people, and learn more about the  Key Biscayne Community Foundation and how to put one's charitable intentions into action.
The Foundation is supporting meaningful change in our community and our world, and there is no better time to get involved than right now.

Whether you are relocating, purchasing a new property or simply needing to move ahead, it's sometimes necessary to sell a home fast.  Unfortunately, that is sometimes easier said than done.  There are several steps that you can take to help move your property quickly.

Price: The number one reason most homes do not sell is that they aren't priced competitively. It's important to price the home right when first putting it on the market. The right price attracts attention. Once buyers see a home on the listings month after month, they assume something is wrong.

Bad Impression: Clutter, grime and lack of cleanliness are three huge reasons why your home might not sit well with potential buyers. Ask your agent for an honest appraisal of the
property, and then take action before listing.

Taxes, Insurance and Homeowner Association (HOA) Fees: High property taxes, inability to obtain affordable insurance and escalating HOA fees can dramatically impact the desirability of a given property. Take time to shop around for the best insurance rates, provide a complete breakdown of services and other benefits derived from the HOA fees, and consider petitioning for an evaluation of property taxes if appropriate.

Showing Restrictions: Don't become your own worst enemy. Try to remain as flexible as possible when showing the home. It might take a bit more effort, but it is well worth the reward when trying to sell a home quickly.

One inspiration at a time

Today's Inspiration

Are you practicing JAMP? I have found it to be extremely effective.

Journaling - keep a journal with your free-flowing thoughts without any agenda or self-judgment. You'll be surprised at what comes up. I like to refer to it as "cleaning out the pipes."

  • Affirming- what you are telling yourself matters. Consider positive affirmations such as "success follows me," or "I am deserving of unconditional love," or whatever you desire and say it in the present moment as if it is already occurring. Affirmations are more powerful than you can ever imagine. Click here to learn more.
  • Meditating - give your mind some room to quietly tap into your higher self, again, without any agenda or self-judgment.
  • Praying - connect to something greater than ourselves driven by an attitude of gratitude.

What are you singing at the top of your lungs while driving alone in your car? Please do share! If you have any music you think I could use for my Spinning class I'd love to hear it. I'm always looking for a wide variety of fun and invigorating tunes, new and old, to keep my class motivated. Send the title and artist to my email at . Thanks for sharing!

As we embark on the month of March and the theme of iconic women, I would like to focus on creating behaviors and intentions that will last beyond the 30 days. Women's History Month is filled with meme's depicting empowering statements, images of infamous trailblazing women and posts quoting those that got us to where we are today. We've come a long way, baby! It's a great month of positivity, reflection and general unity to celebrate the choices we have today.
Then there is the other small side of the spectrum. It is also the time of the year where closet feminists present themselves solely to keep up with the daily trend and to pronounce a Brand twist that may perhaps pick up more followers and subscribers for their platform.
Whatever your reason in engaging in Women's History Month, it's still all leading to a community movement of shout outs and gratitude.
What if we took this a bit further? What if we truly supported other women in positivity more long term? What if we behaved like authentic sisters; regardless of race, religion and political votes?
I am proposing that we all take an oath for the next 12 months and take steps to to symbolize strength, community, unity and the power of women.
Here are 5 simple steps we can take this month and throughout the year to make the month of celebrating women further into eternity.
  1. WORDS: Only share wondrous words of other women. Remove rumors, negative comments and words that hurt. You might say "well, I am just sharing a story". Here is my tip for story telling; If it doesn't make the other person shine, or make others love her greater, then don't share.
  2. DEBATE: Descriptions like: home mom, working mom, 1 kid, no kid, 8 kids, divorced, married, partnered or single; do they really matter? Let's call it a day and just honor all choices. We do the best we can in any situation and it all involves love. We are filled with good intentions. Let's support each other and our decisions even if they were decisions we would perhaps not make for ourselves.
  3. FRIENDS: This month reach out to old and new girlfriends. Reach out to the ones that bring the best out in you, the ones that make your soul sing, the ones that make you giggle even in dark moments. If you need to fix a friendship, do it this month.  Girlfriends need to be a priority and this is the perfect month to reach out and share some love. It's Women's History Month...they are part of your history and they helped you become who you are today.
  4. GRATITUDE: Challenge yourself to share gratitude every day with five women. You can do it throughout the day, all in the evening or in one batch of 10 minutes. It's simple to do and only two words are needed. Thank. You. It will make them smile, it will make you smile, and it might possibly shift the tilt of the Earth.
  5. KINDNESS: Be kind to yourself, the ultimate woman in your life. Honor yourself, the struggles you surpassed, the challenges you conquered and the greatness in your life that is still flourishing. Do something that is good for your spirit and remove the talk that doesn't lift you up. This month is also for you, the love starts with you.
Let's celebrate women from yesterday and those of tomorrow. Let's commit to supporting one another and create the actions to make women stronger in community beyond 30 days. The change this month, starts with you.

7 Reasons to Work With a REALTOR®

REALTORS® aren't just agents. They're professional members of the National Association of REALTORS® and subscribe to its strict code of ethics. This is the REALTOR® difference for home buyers:
  1. An expert guide. Selling a home usually requires dozens of forms, reports, disclosures, and other technical documents. A knowledgeable expert will help you prepare the best deal, and avoid delays or costly mistakes. Also, there's a lot of jargon involved, so you want to work with a professional who can speak the language.
  2. Objective information and opinions. REALTORS® can provide local information on utilities, zoning, schools, and more. They also have objective information about each property. REALTORs®can use that data to help you determine if the property has what you need.
  3. Property marketing power. Property doesn't sell due to advertising alone. A large share of real estate sales comes as the result of a practitioner's contacts with previous clients, friends, and family. When a property is marketed by a REALTOR®, you do not have to allow strangers into your home. Your REALTOR® will generally prescreen and accompany qualified prospects through your property.
  4. Negotiation knowledge. There are many factors up for discussion in a deal. A REALTOR® will look at every angle from your perspective, including crafting a purchase agreement that allows you the flexibility you need to take that next step.
  5. Up-to-date experience. Most people sell only a few homes in a lifetime, usually with quite a few years in between each sale. Even if you've done it before, laws and regulations change. REALTORS®handle hundreds of transactions over the course of their career.
  6. Your rock during emotional moments. A home is so much more than four walls and a roof. And for most people, property represents the biggest purchase they'll ever make. Having a concerned, but objective, third party helps you stay focused on the issues most important to you.
  7. Ethical treatment. Every REALTOR® must adhere to a strict code of ethics, which is based on professionalism and protection of the public. As a REALTOR®'s client, you can expect honest and ethical treatment in all transaction-related matters.
