Paper - findMySequence: A Neural-network-based-approach for Identification of Unknown Proteins in X-ray and Cryo-EM
Image Source: Chojnowski, et al. (2021). findMySequence: A Neural-network-based Approach for Identification of Unknown Proteins in X-ray Crystallography and Cryo-EM. IUCrJ volume 9, part 1 ISSN: 2052-2525 https://doi.org/10.1107/S2052252521011088
This paper in IUCrJ by Chojnowski, et al., presents "an automated pipeline for the identification of protein sequences from cryo-EM reconstructions and crystallographic data." While there are several components in the pipeline, a key element "is the computer program findMySequence that identifies the most plausible protein sequence in a sequence database, given an electron-density map or cryo-EM reconstruction and a main-chain-only model."
New Product - Nanosoft Hybrid Cryo-EM Grid Boxes
The Nanosoft Hybrid Cryo-EM sample storage grid box features dedicated pockets for both unclipped grids and autogrids. Available in 6 colors and with randomized serial numbers on the side of the grid box for easier organization, traceability and sample tracking. You have your choice of grid boxes with or without lids.
Paper - New System for Archiving Integrative Structures
In this paper at Acta Crystallographica Section D by Vallat, et al., learn about PDB-Dev, "a standalone system developed for archiving integrative structures and making them publicly available. The data standards and software tools that support PDB-Dev are described along with the new and updated components of the PDB-Dev data-collection, processing and archiving infrastructure."
Our In Situ-1 Plates on Twitter
We greatly appreciate our customers, partners and collaborators sharing their feedback concerning our products and how it impacts their research.

This Twitter post is by Nemanja Vuksanovic, a Postdoctoral Fellow in Chemistry at Boston University. You can learn more about the research Nemanja is involved with by visiting his profile on Publons.
Learn About Our In Situ-1 Plates
The In Situ‐1™ plate enables crystallography researchers to easily grow, transport and screen crystals of their targets.

Key benefits of In Situ‐1™ plates include:

  • Increase hit rates with controlled kinetics
  • Safely ship crystals in the plate
  • Collect XRD data without harvesting
New - Overstock Product Department
Occasionally we develop an oversupply of products. When this occurs we like to provide our customers a chance to take advantage of this oversupply.

Overstock items this month include cryogenic storage dewars, cryo-EM grids and crystallization plates.
Upcoming Events
At MiTeGen, we sponsor numerous events, conferences, workshops and symposiums throughout the year. These events include fields such as structural biology, crystallography, cryo-EM, beamline research and more. We believe in supporting researchers and our industry. Listed below are two upcoming events you might find interesting.
The Biostruct Africa workshop is April 25th to 28th. Provides hands-on training in structural biology for sustainable development in Africa. Includes X-ray crystallographic and cryo-EM remote data collection and structural determination. We are sponsoring this workshop.
ACA Summer Course 2022 will be held June 12th to 18th. Course will instruct attendees in single-crystal chemical crystallography and powder diffraction techniques, as applicable to small molecule studies. We are sponsoring this course.
Looking For More Events, Workshops and Conferences
If you are looking for more events visit our events page. It lists conferences, workshops, symposiums, user meetings and more.

Topics include structural biology, material science, crystallography, cryo-EM, beamline research and more.
