Championship Division

The final round of the 2023 WSCGA Senior Women's Championship was exciting to say the least. The weather was sunny with clear skies and a steady double digit wind all day. It was a battle out there in all divisions with leads changing throughout the day. In the Championship Division, Pardus came into the final round with a three shot lead over Kerry Rutan. As the day progressed the lead for the overall champion changed numerous times between, Jayne Pardus, Kerry Rutan, and Lee Burton. Ending up in a tie after eighteen with Pardus and Burton. After scorecards were certified, the playoff commenced on the 18th hole with two great drives by both Pardus and Burton. Burton proceeded to hit her approach shot solid; however, the wind took it and landed right of the green. Pardus sailed hers onto the green leaving a breaking thirty foot putt. Burton chipped it almost perfectly rolling the ball over the edge of the hole and stopping approximately 7' past the hole. Pardus rolled it smoothly towards the hole coming up short leaving a 5 footer for par. Burton's par putt once again edged the hole tapping in for bogey. Pardus stepped up to her 5 footer and drained it for the win! Rounding out the championship division was Kerry Rutan and Pam Prescott finishing 2nd & 3rd respectively.
