2023 WSCGA Senior Championship

Championship Division

What started out as a cool morning finished with a steady 17 mph breeze with gusts up to over 30mph throughout the day. Setting up a challenging day at the beautiful Grande Dunes Member Club in Myrtle Beach. The course fairways were playing hard and fast with the greens rolling steady. Taking the first round lead with eyes set on her fourth WSCGA Senior Championship was Jayne Pardus from Mt. Pleasant. Being the only player to post a one over par round of 72 for the day. Pardus had 3 birdies and 4 bogey's on her day. Sitting three shots behind Pardus from Daniel Island is defending Champion Kerry Rutan with a 75.


It is a tight race in the Second flight with Suzann Bartley leading by two with an 81 over Tracy Thorne and Jaime Costanzo who posted 84's.


Three shots are separating 4th place from first in the Third Flight of the Championship Division. Cindy Altoff carded a 94 to take a one shot lead into the final round over Helen Geisel. Sitting three shots back is Jennifer Alveraz and Patty Tykal with a 97.


Leading the Fourth Flight by one shot from Irmo is Jean Burns with a 96 over Ida Menendaz also from Irmo with a 97.

Legends Division

The Legends Division is lead by Anne Washington from Myrtle Beach, who was the only person in her division to post a round in the seventies with a four over par 75. Anne has a 5 shot lead over defending Champion Liz Yacovone from Travelers Rest who carded an 80 in the opening round.


Myrtle Beach's Jane Reidy came out swinging posting an 81 to secure the lead in the Second Flight of the Legends Division. Reidy has a two shot lead over Nancy Vanmeyer and 4 shots over Lucy Roselle and Cathy Martin.


Lynn Lillibridge from Seabrook Island holds the lead in the Third Flight with an 85, just 5 shots ahead of Cheryl Wyndham from Davis Station. Close on their heels from N. Myrtle Beach is Jeanette Pawlik.


Leading the Fourth Flight is Debra Martin from Columbia with a double snowman on the day 88. Martin has a four shot lead over Venita Olson from Charleston and Flo Gilson from Seabrook Island.


In the Fifth and final flight of the Legends Division, there is a tie for first between Lori Kyle and Sally Burke both from Seabrook Island and posting a 96. Just two shots back is Carolyn Connors from Murrells Inlet with a 98.


The final round is expected to have similar weather with steady 17mph winds and gust throughout the day making this championship still anyones to capture. Follow the ladies play via live scoring and see a champion crowned. Final round tee times are 9:00am double tee start.
