Dear Families,
Last week, our 6A class did a wonderful job leading the Holy Spirit Mass. A week from today, Thursday, October 12th, we will celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary Mass. We ask that students bring a rosary to this Mass as we will pray a decade of the Rosary during Mass. All parents and guests are invited to our special Mass which 6B will be leading.
This Saturday, October 7th, 2023, from 6pm-8pm in the Parish Hall, the St. Louise School and Parish Staff, along with the Parish Community Life group, will be hosting a Spaghetti Feed Dinner. We will serve spaghetti with meatballs, salad, French bread, and dessert. The price is $15 for adults, $10 for children, and free for children 4 years old and under. We will also have wine and beer available to purchase for $5. There will also be a raffle for a variety of gift card ornaments/trees with tickets on sale for $5 each or 5 tickets for $20. All proceeds from this special event will support our sister parish St. Anne in Haiti and New Bethlehem Programs in Kirkland. We hope to see all of you there. If you have not registered, please do so HERE.
SLE of the Month – September (Class Updates)
(3.1) A St. Louise Student is a Well-Balanced Individual Who Practices positive social skills by taking responsibility for one’s own actions and showing respect.
In 3rd grade, both classes worked collaboratively to decide upon their classroom expectations/rules. They refer to the rules to help them work as a community that fosters respect and responsibility. They are also Big Buddies to the kindergartners and help guide them to make good choices.
In 5th grade, both classes practiced positive social skills by holding morning meetings. Students gathered in a circle at the beginning of each day to greet one another and practice social-emotional and academic skills. These meetings have resulted in students trusting and respecting one another and setting a positive tone for learning. The 5th graders have also been great role models to their 2nd grade buddies. They helped the second graders be reverent during Masses and Liturgies.
In Library with Mrs. Green, the students learn how to be respectful by sitting, listening, and not touching others during story time. They are also practicing using shelf markers to browse the book collection, as well as how to take care of checked out books at home. Students learn how to take responsibility for their books at home, at school, and the importance of returning them on time.
