Head of School Message
Dear Mercy Families,

Can you believe that it is already May and that graduation is a month from today? I can’t—the year seems to have flown by.

A bit of news: Emily Ambrosino, our Dean of Teaching and Learning, has made the decision to move back to Texas in order to be closer to her family there. While this is only Emily’s second year at Mercy, she has made so many contributions to our school and our students as she worked to lead the faculty in improving and problem-solving our academic program. I know you join me in wishing her and her family the best of everything as she returns home to Houston. It will be hard to replace her, but we have already begun a search process to find a new Dean of Academics. Thank you for all you’ve done for the Mercy community, Emily!

May is a busy time for the students. Besides prom and graduation, classwork and preparing for final exams is intense, not to mention the added pressure for those taking AP exams. We are all aware of how much the girls need our support and encouragement during this month. Thank you for all the support and encouragement you’ve given to me, as well as our faculty and staff, throughout the year!

In Mercy,

Sister Carolyn

A Farewell Message

As the school year comes to a close many of you might have spotted the job posting for a Dean of Academics. My family will be returning to Texas at the close of the 2018-2019 school year to be closer to my family. The Mercy High School community has welcomed and embraced me as I took on the role of Dean of Teaching and Learning, and I am thankful for my time in this community. I wish every current and future Skipper and her family every success. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or concerns about next year.

Mercy offers a variety of support services to help struggling students. As always, I am here to support each family and student in achieving their personal best while at Mercy. Submit Your Parent Volunteer Hours

Did you volunteer at the Gala or donate to the Gala Auction?
After each event you volunteer at, be sure to go to mercyhs.org/volunteer to submit your parent volunteer hours and get the credit you deserve! Remember, each family is asked to volunteer 15 hours each school year.

If you volunteered at the Gala or donated to the auction for parent hours, volunteered at other events through the year, attended an MPA meeting, coordinated with Mercy to drive students to/from athletics games, or volunteered at an event, you need to submit your hours.

You should have received an update on your total hours volunteered. If you think hours are missing, be sure you have submitted the hours you have completed.

Please note that you may also choose to make a $300 donation in lieu of fulfilling your parent hours.
