Head of School
Dear Mercy Families,

Now that the deadlines for applications to Catholic high schools have passed, life here at Mercy is settling back down to normal routines hopefully! We are very happy to report that last Friday, our basketball varsity team played Mercy Burlingame in a game played well by both teams and ended in a victory for our girls. Saturday was the final performance of our Winter Dance Concert; if you missed it, the dancers performed beautifully in a very creative program. We’re taking a close look at our spring calendar and making some adjustments there. An important date to add to your calendar is May 9, when we will celebrate with an all-Mercy party. Next Saturday is our annual Crab Feed always a treat and this year we have a full house having sold out. And, of course, everyone is getting excited as we prepare for Intersession.

We continue on our new path, holding and supporting one another and praying that the loving God of mercy tenderly nurtures each of us!

In Mercy,

Sister Carolyn
Transition Information
Please check Mercy’s  Transition Information Page  regularly for the latest, up-to-date information to help ease your transition to another local high school.
Submit Your Requests and Release Forms - Tomorrow, Feb. 6

High schools are now asking for transcripts and other related admissions documents. If you have not submitted request forms for transcripts or release of financial assistance information, please do so no later than Thursday, February 6.

  • Transcript Release Form
  • Financial Assistance Release Form can be accessed by logging into the Parent Portal and clicking on the Magnus Health Portal
Financial Assistance Release Form & TADS Reminder

Financial Assistance
Mercy students requesting financial assistance from other high schools must complete the   Financial Assistance Release Form  that can be accessed by logging into the Parent Portal and clicking on the Magnus Health Portal block.

TADS Reminder
If you have already submitted a TADS application for Mercy, you will not need to fill out a new TADS application. You do, however, need to contact TADS directly and ask them to add your prospective high school to the application so that they get your TADS application.
Request for Release of Transcript

Once your daughter's application has been received by a school, they will ask Mercy for a copy of their transcript. Please fill out this form to indicate to which school(s) you are allowing Mercy to release your child's transcript. If your school is not listed on the form, check 'other' and write in the school name. Transcripts cannot be released without parent/guardian consent, so please let us know as soon as possible.

Contact Veronica Zermani, Registrar, vzermani@mercyhs.org
Letters of Recommendation
Please keep this in mind when asking teachers for letters of recommendation:
  • Do not panic: recommendations are not due today
  • Mercy B does not require any recommendations, even though you will see a section for that in the application. Do not ask anyone to send a recommendation to Mercy B. As long as you submit your application, you are all set. Mercy B will be communicating with our school at a later date to get more information.
  • At this time, Riordan has not asked for recommendations.
  • Do not ask a teacher for a "letter of recommendation." Every school uses a recommendation form (not letter), which you need to provide to your teacher or counselor. I have attached the Archdiocese form, which is used for the Catholic schools. Please fill out the top of the form and give it to your teacher/counselor.
  • If you give a paper recommendation form to a teacher/counselor, please include a mailing or email address so that they know how to submit the form.
  • Many of the independent schools use the online application form through Ravenna; just put in our counselor/teacher's email address and they will receive a link to the form.

If you need a transcript sent to a school, use this form or email our Registrar, Ms. Zermani.

All recommendations must be submitted directly to the school from the person writing the recommendation. Students cannot submit recommendations themselves, so please do not ask your teacher/counselor to give the recommendation form back to you.
Athletic Transfer Eligibility Procedures

Fall 2020 Transfers
If you transfer for the Fall 2020 semester, see your new Athletic Director and obtain an ELIGIBILITY HARDSHIP TRANSFER form. Once this form is completed and turned into the CCS office, they will then process the transfer. Due to the closing (“hardship”) of Mercy High School, once all of the information checks out, the transfer should be complete and the student-athlete will be able to play immediately.

Spring 2020 Transfers
If you transfer schools this current Spring Semester there may be a sit-out period or you may not be able to play due to the hardship not being in full effect until June 1, 2020. Winter sports student-athletes are INELIGIBLE to play since they had already begun their season at their previous school. They are not allowed to play for 2 different teams in the same season. Spring student-athletes will need to complete an ELIGIBILITY HARDSHIP TRANSFER form with their new Athletics Director and will need to have a 30-day sit-out period until they are eligible to participate. Once the 30 days are over, the student-athlete will then be eligible to play.

Please be mindful that it is CCS’s objective to get these student-athletes out on the field/court as soon as possible, but they will need time for these transfers to process.

Mercy’s Athletics page has updated information about how to transfer for the Spring 2020 and Fall 2020 semesters.
