Dear Mercy Families,
We had a fantastic Mercy Week, beginning with Monday’s Mercy Day Mass and ending with a spirited Mercy Play Day on Friday. The only disappointment was that, despite our girls’ great talent and enthusiasm, we lost our volleyball game against Mercy Burlingame. I had to wear a Mercy B sweatshirt the whole next day because of the bet I made with Burlingame’s head of school
—
that was hard to take!
I want to give you some information about our Parent Pledge program: Why is it so important? Here’s the bottom line: your daughter’s tuition falls short of covering the expense of her education by almost $5,000! In order to meet our basic budget, that means that Mercy must “find” $5,000 for your daughter and for every student here at Mercy. We work very hard at it, seeking out donors and partners...and at keeping our costs down!
Do we expect every family to pledge $5,000? No
—
but what we do ask is that every family contribute whatever you can
—
we understand the financial pressures many families are under. It actually helps us to recruit donors; if we can say that 100% of our families participate with a pledge, they are impressed with your commitment and more likely to support us. I simply ask each of you to do your part. Please consider what is possible for you and send it to Mercy as soon as you can!
I assure you that we are your partner in your daughter’s education and that your gift will serve all we do to provide your daughter with the best Mercy education possible. On behalf of all of our students, I thank you.
In Mercy,
Sister Carolyn
