Join DFX to Celebrate Neurodiversity

At DFX, we celebrate individual differences and work every day to help children who are neurodiverse thrive by offering therapeutic support that meets their unique needs and partnering with parents, caregivers, educators, and others in their ecosystem to expand their understanding of how to help these children reach their potential.

March is Developmental Disability Awareness Month

The 2024 theme is "A World Of Opportunities" envisioning communities uniting to dismantle obstacles and broaden understanding so that people of all abilities can feel understood, accepted, and can participate in and contribute to society.

An important part of celebrating neurodiversity is helping others understand that people who are neurodiverse are all around us - they are your neighbors, your children, your friends, your co-workers, and others you may encounter every day.

As Temple Grandin said "The world needs all kinds of minds." People who are neurodiverse see the world in many different ways, and these unique points of view can also bring inspiration. Many dreamers, creators, and trailblazers in our world are people who are neurodiverse. By celebrating neurodivergence and recognizing the talents and potential of every individual, we are building engaged belonging.

March 18 - 24 is Neurodiversity Celebration Week

Have Questions?

A great place to start is by asking your child's therapist at DFX. Did you know that we have a resource library that includes books you can borrow? Our therapy team can find just the right book for you or your child.

If your child is an avid reader and ready to learn more, here are a couple of books they might enjoy. "A kids book about Neurodiversity" is meant for children who are between 4 and 8 years old, and "Wonderfully Wired Brains" is written for 7 to 9-year-olds.
