Food Service Balances
Students with a negative balance during the last week of school (starting May 29) will not be allowed to charge any purchases; free meals can still be purchased. Negative meal account balances need to be cleared before final exams / graduation.  Graduates owing District fees, including meal charges, may be restricted from participating in the graduation ceremony. Account balances for students returning to HUHS will carry over to the next school year.

Food Service Refunds
Refund checks will be generated for inactive accounts (due to graduating or withdrawing from HUHS) if other district dues are not owed and if a sibling is not currently or will not be attending HUHS in Fall. If district fees are owed, the amount of the meal account refund will be applied toward that balance. If siblings are still attending or will be attending HUHS in Fall, the balance will remain in the account for them. Full-price accounts may opt to donate their refund to a donation meal account to assist students in need by contacting the Food Service Office  [email protected] or (262) 670-3315.
Health Services
MEASLES INFORMATION

Because measles has been in the news recently, and that a case was confirmed in Chicago, we have been proactive in getting measles information and have been in contact with the Washington/Ozaukee County Health Department.

Some basic information:  Measles starts with fever, runny nose, cough, red eyes, and sore throat. That is followed by a rash that spreads over the body. Measles is highly contagious and spreads airborne through coughing and sneezing.  Nine out of ten people who are susceptible to get measles will contract the disease.

If HUHS has one case of measles (one case is considereed an outbreak), the Washington/Ozaukee County Health Department will require the exclusion of students who have not been vaccinated due to waivers.  If a student at HUHS has not been vaccinated and has siblings that have not been vaccinated and an oubreak occurs at the siblings school, the HUHS student will also be excluded from school at HUHS for a minimum of 10 days.  This is also true if the situation is reversed and we have one case, the elementary school sibling/s would be excluded for 10 days, minimum.  The Health Department will also require HUHS staff to provide proof of immunity.

If your child/ren have waivered the vaccines, the Health Department will mandate that your student cannot be at HUHS for a minimum of 10 days.  This would include all contact in the building, as well as co-curriculars (meetings, practices, events, etc.).  If a second outbreak would occur during that time, it could be longer than 10 days.  With families traveling this summer, it is a great time to get caught up if your child/ren have only had one vaccine or none at all.

The Health Department strongly recommends that you are aware of this information and consider having your child vaccinated as soon as possible. You can contact your primary physician to either get a MMR booster, and/or a titer (blood test) to determine if your child/ren are immune.

More inf ormation is available from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC):

Parents/staff/students can open an account and check immunization records through the Wisconsin Immunization Registry which began in 1995.   https://www.dhfswir.org/PR/portalHeader.do

ACT Testing
Looking for FREE  resources to prepare your student(s) for the ACT? Click  HERE  to go to the ACT Academy website!

All students considering a two or four-year college experience are reminded to take the ACT test during their junior year.  Students can register for the ACT at
www.actstudent.org. When registering, students will need the HUHS school code, which is 500-850.   Please remember to check the website to see if the college(s) your son or daughter is considering requires or recommends the ACT writing test.   The test fee for the ACT is $50.50 and the ACT with writing is $67.00.   If you feel you cannot afford the test fee, please ask your child's counselor if you are eligible for a fee waiver.
HUHS is an ACT test center for all testing dates.  Upcoming test dates for the 2018-2019 school year are:
                                                     July 13, 2019

2018-2019 Information

New This Year - Clubs & Activities Online Registration
Starting for the 2018-19 school year, all students wishing to participate in activities, clubs or sports will need to complete the Online Forms through Skyward Family/Student access.  All steps need to be marked as completed including step #8 "SUBMIT SY19 ATHLETIC/CO-CURRICULAR FORMS".  Online Forms only need to be completed once per school year, so if a student participates in a sport as well as a club or activity the Online Forms only need to complete once.

If the student is only participating in an activity or club but will not be participating in a sport, they may mark step 3 complete and do not need to have a Physical Clearance Form completed by their Physician.

Once the online forms have been completed, the student will then need to pick up an "Orange Card" from the Co-Curricular Office clearing them to participate in their activity or club. Activity/Club organizers will inform students of this change at the first sign up meeting and collect the orange cards before the next regularly scheduled meeting.
