Strategic Plan - Parent Focus Group Invite
Hartford Union High School has begun its Strategic Plan process, and developed a Strategic Plan Team.  The Team is charged with developing three to five goals for the District to accomplish over a three year time period, January 2018 - December 2021.   The Team is scheduling Focus Group Listening Sessions for District stakeholder groups in order to gather as much information as possible for the process of setting these goals.  Parents/guardians of HUHS students are invited to participate in a Focus Group Listening Session to be held on Tuesday, August 29, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the high school's Library Media Center (LMC).  We encourage you, and all parents/guardians, to be a part of the process.  We look forward to seeing at the Parent Focus Group Listening Session!

Senior Photo Deadlines

The Deadline for Senior Pictures for the Class of 2018 will be NOVEMBER 1, 2017!

Due to the yearbook being delivered in the Spring, the Senior Picture deadline will be on November 1, 2017. It is important to note that this is much earlier than in years past!

Click here to see the senior photos that have been submitted.

Senior Photo Requirements
  • Senior pictures are due November 1, 2017. Photos not turned in by this deadline will result in a $25.00 fine. Photos received after November 15, WILL NOT BE PUBLISHED in the 2017-18 yearbook
  • Please email one digital file of your photograph to [email protected]. It must be at least 2x3 inches at 300dpi. If you cannot send a digital file, we can digitize it, but this will reduce the quality from the original. Please name your file with your last name, _ , then your first name (example: doe_john.jpg). File types can be .jpg or .tiff
  • DO NOT SEND IN a screenshot of your senior picture from your photographer, if at all possible, have your photographer send the photo to prevent losing any quality!
  • Photos must be vertical color prints, with  no pets, no hats, and have a simple background. Dress needs to be school appropriate. Remember, the pictures in our yearbook are small, so ideally the photo should show just the head and shoulders. We want to maximize your face size.
  • Many local photographers have these deadlines and may the send the photo for you if you ask. Please understand that your photographer will need probably 6 weeks or more to get photos done. This means you should have your pictures taken by the middle of September to get them done with enough time to spare.
  • We cannot accept prints from a Laser or inkjet home computer printer.
Any students who do not turn in senior pictures will have their HUHS school picture published in the yearbook.

Some News from Activities & Athletics
Boys Volleyball Program Begins
HARTFORD - Seth Rupert leapt nearly 2 feet in the air, crashing into teammate Sam Klosowski in a moment of emotion and joy.  Rupert's exuberance was exhibited after Hartford Union's boys volleyball team got the fairy-tale start it wanted - a 25-20 first-set win Wednesday night against Sussex Hamilton in the program's first match.  The set win followed the junior varsity's sweep of the Chargers, which is preserved for history as that club's first victory.  Unfortunately, the varsity could not follow in its match. Hamilton, also playing its first matches in school history, reeled off set victories of 25-23, 25-16, 25-21 to claim the match in four sets.  Hartford coach Terry Wick noted he was "mentally tired" after shepherding the club through a six-hour-plus day. The Orioles newest boys program - balanced by competitive cheer on the girls side - was a labor of love for the coach, who tried for 15 years to get a program approved. The wait was so long, assistant coach Zack Frank was a student a decade ago when he initially joined Wick's cause.  Click here to read the full article.
