Happy 2019-2020 school year! Here are a few reminders from the HUHS Health Office. Does your child have asthma or a life-threatening allergy? Students who use asthma inhalers and Epi-Pens are allowed to carry those medications with them, but they must have a Health Plan form on file in the Health Office signed by both the parent and physician, this must be done yearly. To carry an inhaler or Epi-Pen, parent and doctor fill in the medication information on the form and then sign the form, you don't need a separate medication card. Students with other health issues including but not limited to seizures, heart problems, diabetes, or any other serious health concern, should also have a yearly Health Plan on file. Plans that only list a health condition, but do not involve prescribed medication only need a parent signature.
Parents and students are reminded that if they need to call a parent or need to go home due to illness, they must come to the Health Office located in Attendance for a permit to leave the building. I will call and speak with the parent or emergency contact so that arrangements can be made for the student to leave. Feel free to call me anytime with any questions or concerns you may have, so I can help to keep your child safe and healthy while here at HUHS.
