PARENT/GUARDIAN LETTER

MARCH LESSON OF THE MONTH:

Perseverance

"THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SUCCESSFUL PERSON AND OTHERS IS NOT A LACK OF STRENGTH, NOT A LACK OF KNOWLEDGE, BUT RATHER A LACK IN WILL" - VINCE LOMBARDI

What is Perseverance?

This month's word is perseverance. Perseverance is an essential quality for children to develop as it helps them overcome challenges and achieve their goals. Teaching the value of perseverance can empower them to face obstacles with resilience and determination.

It can be hard when we all get in a rut and want to throw in the towel, but when encouraging our children to stay committed and not give up, they learn to develop a growth mindset and understand that success often requires effort and persistence. Most of the time, the best way we can teach this is by staying committed to the things we do and say we will do, as parents.

How Can you Help at Home?

~ Praise efforts and celebrate small victories along the way

~Let them know you believe in their abilities and are there to help them when they face difficulties...no matter what!

~Help them develop problem-solving skills to tackle obstacles effectively - because there will always be obstacles in life!

~Share with them examples of how you have persevered in situations in life to achieve success. This will help them to understand that perseverance is a valuable quality to have.

~Encourage them to take risks, try new things, and to learn from failures. When they see that mistakes and setbacks are a natural part of life and learning, they will be more likely to persevere.
