MSCS Educators Named Music Teachers of Excellence Award Recipients


Three MSCS educators will be recognized by the Country Music Association (CMA) Foundation as Music Teachers of Excellence on October 18 in Nashville.


The Foundation will also donate a total of $150,000 to all of this year’s recipients, which will go toward their classroom needs and music programs and support professional development and personal expenses.

Kate Bond MS Kodiaks went "all in" on their team spirit to honor their Head Football Coach. When Coach Demond Fason suddenly fell ill, they continued to step up and give it their all on the gridiron during their Homecoming game against Germantown MS.  This video gives a glimpse of how their kind words will help Coach Fason on his road to recovery.

In appreciation for the efforts of Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS) educators, the AutoZone Liberty Bowl and the College Football Playoff (CFP) Foundation visited Ridgeway HS to honor one of our hardworking teachers, Jawanna Franklin.


Their Extra Yard for Teachers Week kicked off with The Big Day For Teachers event featuring a special surprise check presentation. 

Memphis students continue to make their mark on the academic world, and more than a dozen of them are being educated right here in Memphis-Shelby County Schools! 


Thirteen high school seniors have been named National Merit® Scholarship Semifinalists! The National Merit Scholarship Program was created to identify and honor scholastically talented American youth and encourage them to fully develop their abilities.
